OT: What are your plans for Valentine's Day!

And I'm having NO LUCK AT ALL.  My husband has put up with SO MUCH sickness on my part since we got married that he deserves a medal of honor.  Seriously.  This is how our married life started - 8 days before our wedding I had to have emergency gall bladder removal, so when it came time for the actual wedding I was still high on hydrocodone, and on some post-surgery "restrictions" that can really get in the way of a honeymoon.  He got us a hotel room with a jacuzzi, but because my inscisions were still icky we couldn't use it - and this past year has been really rough.  From May until November there were more days than not that I could hardly drag my butt through the day, much less be a very good companion when I got home.  He has gotten more emergency phone calls from me, telling him that this is it and I'm really going to die this time, than anyone deserves to get in a life time.  And he has been patient, loving and supportive through it all.   Soooo...that brings me to my point.  He has already told me he is planning Valentine's Day, so I don't need to worry about it.  HOWEVER - I decided that I could get something cute for Valentine's night, but I'm not having any luck.  I look at the Victoria's Secret thingies online and just know that I could never "fill them out" if you catch my drift.  So I'm still looking.  In the meantime - what is everyone else planning?  Inspire me!

Awwww!  Poor Kyle, he is a trooper isn't he?  I highly doubt he'd care it you"filled them out" just that you were IN it.  It won't be on for long anyway *wink* As for me, I would be overjoyed to be eating s/f chocolate pudding.  My surgeon is wonderful but I seem to be an anomoly in the WLS world because I have to "feed" through a tube for like two weeks and it's just demoralizing.  In a past life, DH and I would have gone to a fondue restaurant for V-Day, which was our tradition.  guess we have to find a new tradition lol. Sorry I'm not much help but I promise you, based on your experiences and the fact that he's a dude, he'll just be thrilled to have YOU, whatever you happen to be wrapped in.

I have heard of the tube thing from several post-ops, not many, but a few.  There is one woman on the Main Board that I talk to that has had some horendous trouble, and she is now more than 6 months out and still has the blasted tube...not that that will happen to you, I'm sure...she is a rarity.   I had to feed myself through a tube for the month of August - it was actually the only time I ever drank (if you can say I actually drank...) protien drinks since I could shoot them through the tube and not have to taste them.  You will be well fed, and hopefully it'll help you get on your feet faster - and of course it is motivation to get your intake where it needs to be through your mouth (isn't when you get it out based on your blood work and how much muscle you are losing as opposed to fat?) I LOVE fondu.  I suggested that to Kyle as something I would love to do for Valentine's Day, but it would be hard to justify spending $50+ on going to the Melting Pot when I could hardly eat 1/3 of my meal.  I've never been to a fondu restaurant, it just seems like it would be a romantic/fun/novel experience. Awwe.  Thanks.  I hope you really enjoy your sf chocolate pudding!

Fondue places tend to jack up the price on V-Day.  I know the one we go to has smaller portions and you can kind of mix and match (like you don't HAVE to have dessert).  But on V-Day, they make you get a 100.00 meal that includes salad, appetizer, main course, dessert, and a bottle of wine for 2. As for the tube, I have it a total of 5 weeks just in case of strictures or complications.  I progress weekly through different liquid, mushy, pureed, and full food stages.  I know it's for th best but it's hard to realize that in the now lol

Go Karts is one of my things to do post-op that I haven't done just yet.  I hope you have a great time - it sure sounds like fun!

yay!...Valentine's Day will be my 6 mo. surgiversary....so I have a doctors appt. that day....but hubby took the day off work to go with me and have sashimi after.... We were married on Halloween, so the Valentine pink sh*t never really appealed to us...BUT...I'm having his new 60" HDTV delivered and set up while were out ( I havn't REALLY been keeping a tattoo fund...lol)...so I'm sure I will become a Call of Duty 4 widow immediately following... Oh well...it's the best I can do, I'm still behind....he gave me diamonds to add to my wedding set when it had to be resized...I assume TV's are the diamond equivalent for men???...lol... it's worth a shot xxxbecca

I assume TV's are the diamond equivalent for men??? I think you're right.  Is Call of Duty 4 a game?  I am a PC game widow every now and then, which is only fair since Kyle turns into a Obesity Help widower sometimes too.  lol.  I hope you guys have a great day and happy surgi-versary!

Big day of work, then I got to go to the airport (55 miles away) to pick up my parents.  Quite a day!
