Things are moving right along!!

Well in the last week things have progressed rather well!!  I went to the seminar on Thursday and found out a lot about the surgeries.  I have decided to get the RNY, which is pretty much what I had thought going into the seminar. I talked with my insurance and they were very supportive, they told me all of the qualifications and I meet them all.  I should have no problem being approved. Better than that...I saw my primary care doc, and he is 100% confident that this surgery will be something that will help me.  He is thinking that my migraines are metabolic related, related to my insulin resistance.  From everything I have read it is more than likely that the insulin resistance will be resolved with the WLS.

He is writing a letter to the Bariatric clinic on Monday, so that is one huge step down.  I will finish filling out my application and drop it off Monday too.  The next step is approaching my parents, just to get their support.  Fingers crossed!!

I’ve had great news so far, I’m taking those baby steps towards surgery!  Thanks for all of your encouragement so far!!

Once I had my RNY my migraines left :)  Its been 2 years and no migraine! *knock on wood* I used to get one AT LEAST once a month and when they were bad, every week... they knocked me out. Good luck with your approval process and parents! :)

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

Lap Band on 05/02/07 with
support support support.... it is so important to have it. My insurance was very cooperative it just took them forever to get anything done. But I submitted once for approval and got it, it was just getting everything together that was wearing on me. That being said, congrats, we are the lucky few that are fortunate enough to get help from our insurance.

Well I talked to my parents tonight and although they are hesitant, they are on board :) YAY!  This week has been amazing...one step right after the other...it's wonderful how it is all falling into place.  I still have many more steps to go before WLS, but I am headed in the right direction! Thanks again for all the support, this site has been a wealth of knowledge!!
