Ok, thanks for everyone's advice about telling my dad about the surgery.  I told him last night.  I was shocked, but happy about his response.  He is excited for me, and glad I was able to make the decision.  He is excited, because I am excited.  He knows I am not my sister, and I will not make the same mistakes.  I have learned from her experience.  (She is amazingly better by the way, and an inspiration now more than anything.)  Now I have consultation jitters...  I go to my 1st consultation tomorrow with my surgeon.  What should I expect?

My consultation with the surgeon went well. The nurse weighed me and took a before picture and talked to me a bit before the surgeon came in. When he came in we spent about 45 mins together... he went over how the surgery works and a little of what to expect. He took the time to answer any/all the questions I had. I saw my surgeon prior to doing anything else so also at that visit I was given a packet of what I needed to do before submitting to insurance - attending a seminar, NUT eval, psych eval etc.
