Okay...so upfront a LOT of people have said they cant handle pasta or rice...I tried some the other day....and have a couple times since.. NO problems at all.  Now, if I even have a SMIDGE of eggs? DUMP LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW. I wont go near eggs for a long time lol One problem I have had is getting the amount of water they want...I usually get between 32-38oz a day...only halfway to 64!! Ugh.. Im guessing this is just one of those things where everyone is different and blahddy blah.. Its been helpful to look at the Eatin' Good logs and all that...helps me make better choices. Has anyone else had trouble with liquids early on? Did it get better? What helped?  The easiest liquid to get down for me is milk and crystal light Thanks for any input! -Anne

Everyone is SOOO different. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is milk...or most dairy products. Especially cream cheese, which sucks because I love cream cheese! Oh well it is worth it. :) ~K

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with eggs everyone is very different though :( I have a problem with the water thing i work hard but usually fall short of my 64 ounces too.  I have not had problems with rice i have only had it in soup a few times and i dont really eat much pasta, i have had a small amount with my spaghetti a few times, chewed it a ton, and didnt have any problems.  If I am ever worried about if something is going to like cause a blockage or an issue i will chew it to death :)

Hey Anne! I definitely had major issues getting all my water in....it was pretty much impossible for me!!!  Now I can drink SO much easier, so it will get better!!!!  It helped for me to have really cold drinks, but I also hear that hurts some people because it can make your pouch spasm.  Milk was my favorite and was what I was drinking to get most of my liquid, but you have to watch the carbs in it.  Luckily I haven't become lactose intolerant yet!!!! :)   Check out the new crystal light (clight) flavors I posted on another post....they are soo good and make it easier for me to drink now...and I can drink SO much faster than I used to. That sucks about the eggs, I lived on eggs the first few months!!!!

I have never dumped...but do sometimes get sweaty, shaky if I eat something sweet after I eat something like a main dish...weird but oh well, I had problems getting my water in after surgery...took me a while but I am getting it in most days...(over the 64 oz range) I am cautious almost to a fault...I chew and chew and chew everything...I don't eat alot of red meat because of the chewing factor...Chicken, pork, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese are usually staples for me...I don't do alot of pasta but have done more lately...But everyone is different so I found the things that others ate just give me ideas of what to try out...but thankfully I can just about eat anything I want of course in extreme moderation :)

That sweaty, shakey thing is dumping.  Mild, but all the same, it is definately a form of dumping.  So congratulations - you are a dumper

I didn't read the other replies...so sorry if this is redundant... For the water, try different temps.  Cold water, especially early out, made my pouch spasm and made me feel icky in general.  I ended up in the ER for dehydration twice because I had such a hard time with water.  I was a big water drinker pre-op, and I always drank it with tons of ice in it, so it never occured to me that cold water was a problem.  But as soon as someone suggested drinking room temp or slightly warm water, and I tried it, I have had no more problems.  If you haven't tried un-ice-cold water, I highly suggest it.  Also, try a squirt of lemon or lime juice into your water - there are chemical reasons that this sometimes helps, but I have long since forgotten, but for some reason a squirt of lemon/lime juice can make water easier on your pouch.   I hope that this will help - water is so so so so important to your health.  It will help your skin health, keep your blood pressure steady and if nothing else, fat leaves your body through urine - so you NEED water to flush the bad stuff out when you are in the rapid weight loss phase.   Problem foods for me include... Eggs - I flat out pretty much cannot do eggs.  Instead I use egg subsitutes and I haven't had trouble with these. Cereal with Milk - I can eat dry cereal, and I can drink milk, but combine the two and I dump HARD Dry Meat - so stuff like chicken breast, over cooked steak, white turkey meat and pork give me the foamies - I just can't chew it enough to make it go down well.  I cook a lot of meat in my slow cooker to make sure it stays moist.  Just about the only way I can eat chicken breast is if I cook it that way (but I don't mind because slow cooker chicken is yummy!) Mayo - Blech.   There are more, these are just the worst repeat offenders for me.

eggs? First time I've seen that on a list of trouble foods. that stinks. I eat eggs several times a week...I wonder what it is about them that causes you to get sick... For me, it's more then 10-12 grams or so of refined sugar, more is OK if it is natural sugar like that in milk or fruit.... Sugar alchohol is a no-no for me...and I'm with Amy - milk is OK, low-sugar cereal is OK, but combine the two and they conspire against me.
