Just introducing myself to this board
I hardly ever go onto this board so I'll introduce myself! My name is Jason I live out in Jersey, had gastric bypass surgery August 1st, 2007 in Brooklyn New York. I have lost nearly 150 lbs in 6 months! (And to be honest I want to lose more faster lol) I just got a question for everybody who's been out more then 6 months. Has the weight lost slow down for you guys?? And like I don't know about you but as for me I usually don't get full anymore. But I don't eat as much, but I just don't feel that full filling like I did when I first had the surgery. Alright thats it for now someone out there write to me!!!!!! LOL it's boring being single and living alone. OK take care!
Hey Jason, you're lucky because guys generally tend to lose more and have better luck keeping it off. Weight loss is very individual. For me, my weight loss slowed around 9 months, and I lost slowly until I reached my goal at around 18-20 months. So even if your weight loss slows, you can still lose to your goal.
Congratulations on your awesome loss so far. 150 pounds in 6 months ia amazing. Welcome to the 20's board!

Our experiences are very different, you having RNY and me having Lap Band. I know RNY loses MUCH faster MUCH quicker, but I understand RNY had about an 18 month window to lose your weight before flat-lining, where as my window is limitless. That is what I read/heard anyways.
That said, yes, it has gotten much harder to lose in the 11 months since my 6 month anniversary. In the first 6 months I lost 60 pounds, since then, in nearly a year, I have only lost another 33 more.
However, I haven't worked as hard in the last 11 months as I did in the first 6. The last week I have really kicked it up a notch though...thanks to our WLS20's exer-thon.
I am a firm believer that, if you do the work, you'll get the rewards. So just work hard, maybe as hard as you ever have at weight loss, and the pounds will melt off.
Welcome aboard!
Hey, I feel ya with the boredom of being single and living alone!!!
Congrats on the amazing amount of weight you have lost so far...that's awesome!!! I had my surgery (the DS) a couple weeks after yours and have lost 95 pounds so far....I'm stalling a little bit now, but hope to hit the work outs hard core so I can break past this stall!!!! I hope my weight loss is not slowing down...I hear it slows after a year or a year and a half....
Keep up the good work! You look great!
