Introducing myself

Just thought I would say hi to everyone. I've been on the site for a while but just recently got the $$ for a surgery. Going to a seminar on the 29th and probably looking towards the Lap-Band. I'm 27 and mom to a 1 yr old. My goal for this year is to at least have the surgery done by the end of the year. I don't have to wait for insurance since I will be doing the cash option thing. Is that not realistic? Anyway. just thought I would introduce myself. Glad to be here.

Welcome to the board! I was a cash pay also. I literally had the surgery within 2 months of my first doctor's visit. If you're paying cash, you don't have any hurdles to run through so they will schedule you on their first available date.

2 months! That is great! I'm sure every doctor's office is different but thanks for the uplift. Thank you for all the welcomes.

Well, I was insurance, but I still had the surgery 2 months and 1 week after my first consult. As long as you show an enthuisam for it and show them that you are working hard, they'll rush you along, I think.

HI there! Welcome to the board. For some reason I dont come to the 20's board often but if you go for the lapband you will see me a lot at that board! I think if you are paying cash there is no reason you couldnt be banded and on the loser bench by summer! Barbara H edit: I was self pay as well... had my 1st visit mid october and was banded in Nov. So if the surgeron is available its all about your timing!
