TV SUCKS!!!

Can I just say, I HATE TV right now.  Well, especially commercials.  I'm on my LD and I never realized just how many commercials were about food.  JEEZ, I'm not having a problem, but dammit, I'm realizing all the crap I used to eat and it's driving me nuts.  No wonder American's are so fat, they make the darn commercials and print advertisements soooo appealing.  It also doesn't help that I love to cook so I'm always watching Food Network....

 Ok, I'm done venting...

So true!  No wonder America is so big!  You can'****ch anything without some kind of pizza commercial and the Food Network...yeah...can you say pudge porn?  Last night I watched the Throw Down with Bobby Flay, it was over chicken wings, and that is what I have decided to make for supper because I am so susceptible to the power of suggestion.  At least it wasn't the Throw Down about donuts...sheesh.  Good luck on the liquid diet!  It stinks now, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

That's why I love DVR and being able to watch things at a later date. We record everything in our house and then watch them at a later time. That way we can just fast forward thru the commercials. Isn't technology wonderful?

I have DVR, LOVE IT!!  But, I was jus****ching TV this saturday (Gotta get my cartoons in)...and it was non-stop food commercials.  I normally record pretty much everything but I just felt like being lazy Saturday...thats the last time I do that.  lol

I took a marketing psychology course in college where we discussed this ploy....you will notice more food commercials during the early evening hours when people are just getting home from work and making their dinner plans...you'll see many more "delivery" ads too, pizza is one of the biggest culprits....the weekends push "family dining" restaurants...all for our big fat as* convenience... go figure huh? xxxBecca

Outside of a few shows, and sporting events, TV DOES suck!

I hear ya, I've gotten to the point where I refuse to allow myself to tune into the Food Network if I am within an hour of a mealtime, it just tempts me to make the wrong choices...

Word to that. I watch Food Network like it's porn, but with an armchair quarter back's attitude.  "Ohhh....that looks GOOD. You know what though? I could SO totally made that. Only better. I think I WILL make that!" Next thing I know I'm making a smoked salmon omelette and bailey's irish chocolate chip pancakes at 3am.

I am right there with you about hating TV right now. I was even salivating for McDonalds and I *HATE* McDonalds. I'm on my post-op liquid diet, clear liquids for another five days, ten days off full liquids, and finally mushies.  Also, people eating infront of me is making me rather homocidal. I flew home from having my surgey last night. I had two connecting flights and on each one they served food. What's worse than food commercials? ... ...Being suck at 11,000 feet with people on either side of you eating cheeseburgers and pizza. Even if it's airline food, I could have broken someone's arm for a bite.
