Okay, so I am finally starting to feel relaxed and good about eating again lol  I am almost 3 weeks post op now!!! Wooot! And down about 35-40lbs!  I know...woah nelly. Today I was feeling particularly weak...like I literally had a hard time putting dishes away...I was drinking my water, I was getting my protein a bit at a time..So I couldnt figure it out!  Later on I decided to cut up and orange and put salt on it... I never do that lol  I bit in and drank the juices out and HOLY CRAP! SO GOOD! I am one of those people who love salty and sweet together(can anyone say peanuts and candy corn???lol)  I started instantly feeling stronger and full of more energy...Who knows what that was about. So if your feeling weak, sluggish, cut up a cold orange and sprinkle a little salt on! mmmm!! I also discovered how much I now love the site Bariatriceating.com!!! TONS of yummy and safe recipes!  Tonight I made the cottage cheese onion cakes!  Oh my gosh....With a smidgen of low fat sour cream...DELICIOUS!   Everyone looking for new food ideas, check it out!!!! -Anne

The orange and salt thing makes sense...when I was going to school at Arizona State and working for the athletics department, I remember there was always a punch bowl full of orange slices in the lockeroom at halftime and after the game...I think the acid was supposed to help counter cramping, plus the natural sugar will help keep your blood sugar level from getting too low, the salt is a good thing too - you know those sport drinks that are supposed to help you sustain your energy levels by replacing "electrolytes" - just a fancy way of saying "with added salt"....btw - those cottage cheese onion cakes sound good! I actually tried to find them but couldn't - how about a link? or copy and paste of the recipe?

Oh man thanks for this comment! Helps me understand it all a little more :-)  And HEY your from AZ!!! IM FROM AZ!! I am actually planning on moving back! How is it down there?  Im from Glendale... So before I go babbling, here is the recipe: Cottage Cheese Oinion pancakes-- 1/2 medium onion, chopped 1 tablespoon butter 1 egg 1/2 c cottage cheese 2 Tablespoons flour salt pepper Directions--Saute the onion in the butter until golden and set aside. In a small bowl, beat egg slightly, blend in cottage cheese, flour, salt and pepper, and onion butter mixture. Heat nonstick skillet over medium high heat, spray with Pam, and spread four 1/4 cup scoops of batter into small pancakes. Coo****il surface appears slightly firm and undersides are slightly brown. Flip and coo****il lightly brown on the other side. The size of these are great for portion control and also feeling very satisfied! and try typing in the url: bariatriceating.com/egchandsofo.html This has a long list of foods that are ok for everyone including those doing the soft food diet still. You can also reach all the other pages of this womans stellar recipes!!!  So many awesome things on her site! Thanks for stoppin' by! :-)  Happy Shrinking! -Anne

Thanks! I'm going to try it out tommorow....Arizona is good, we got a nice storm today - the usual story - it rained lightly to moderatly for about ten hours, the roads flooded, some idiots had to be rescued from their cars and Flagstaff got a foot of snow, 20 inches in the White Mountains...Things have changed a lot around here in the last few years, I moved to the east coast for two years and the construction boom that was going on before has just gone on and on and on, everywhere I go i find myself saying "that didn't used to be here" Glendale has changed alot too, the Cardinal's Stadium and Coyotes Arena has really done alot for the west side. You'll see, jus****ch the Super Bowl....
