Evil food dreams
Ok guys, this is the 7th night in a row that I have had very vivid food dreams. It's always the same in all of them, I'm scarfing down different foods, even know I know I shouldn't and will probablly get really sick and screw up my new pouch. Last night it was this really rich donut. The night before was pizza. A couple nights it was a Cheesy Gordita Crunch w/beans (my fav fast food item). One night I dreamt that it was the morning of surgery and I scarfed down a big salad. The night before surgery I actually dreamt that I had alcohol and woke up in a panic.
THESE DREAMS ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!! lol
What do you guys think? Anyone have this happen? Is it my head hunger trying to come through somehow? Is it the byproduct of becoming uber aware of what I'm eating and wondering if I'll tolerate it? Anyone? lol

OK, feel free to laugh at anytime. I am laying in ICU right after my surgery and I'm dreaming of sitting on a curb and eating an ENTIRE Large Stuffed Crust pizza w/ extra cheese and a 2 liter bottle of pepsi "thinking" man - how can I eat all of this, I just had my surgery, I shouldn't be able to eat this much and I haven't had my swallow test yet! I couldn't even eat this much before my surgery - what if they really didn't DO the surgery and just cut me open...- of course this was me "thinking" in my dream - and of course you wouldn't leave the hospital without taking a swallow test - but I had worked myself up in my dream in such a state of panic all I remember is hearing in my dreams "BEEP,BEEP,BEEP,BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" - Well needless to say I woke up with a start to find out all my monitors for heart rate and breathing rates were going off like crazy and the floor nurse came running in like I just flat lined... how you supposed to explain you were dreaming of a stuffed crust pizza? LOL... Nope, you're NOT the only one...
It's finally STARTING to get better 2 months post-op - LOL... I am currently dreaming of Arby's and Subway (hard because even if I wanted to go I couldn't since I"m stationed overseas - UGH)...
I had some really weird dreams the week before my surgery involving the surgery and eating tons of food that I shouldn't have eaten...it was bizzare. In one of my dreams I stopped at a gas station, went in, got the surgery in the gas station, walked out and was fine...got in the car with my brother and then ate tons of taco bell and got sick. I woke up in a panic too!!! I also dreamed about cottage cheese after my surgery when I was still on the liquid phase diet...I had never been sooo excited to eat cottage cheese when I finally could eat soft foods....and it didn't help that the ceiling in my apartment looked like cottage cheese to me, so that's all I could think about before falling asleep at night!!! hahahaha. I think it might have to do with how we changed our eating habits pretty abruptly and our head is not used to it....I have no clue though, the dreams amused me for sure!!!! :)
omg....you are SO not alone lol My second day in the hospital post op I had a dream that my nurse brought me a large stuffed crust pizza with extra cheese!!! I had two other people come in and help lift up my bed, then I ate the whole pizza right there..They were all smiling saying "Thats good! Your doing great!" I had on the gown and everything!! I kept thinking, How is this going down???? Its not supposed to!!
The other night it was about Taco Bell..I had a Nachos Bell Grande, two hard tacos and a Bean Burrito...Same thoughts in the dream...
What in the HECK are these dreams about?????? hahahaha...Its crazy. I just say to myself hey, last night I had Taco Bell baby! And them Im over it lol
Every time I went on Atkins I dreamed I ate some Ice Cream and chocolate, every time I am trying to get a job, I smoked weed, when I need to save money it's all blown on something stupid.. I HATE THOSE DREAMS!!! You are not alone, it's like our brains are screwing with us.. I say puni**** by consuming large quantities of alcohol. And if it doesn't stop doing it at least you will give it brain damage...see who's laughing now you stupid brain!!

I too had vivid dreams right before and after my surgery...Mine were a little more extreme though. The food was actually choking me to death...my mouth and throat were stuffed and I couldn't breath i was trying to get it out of my mouth but it just kept growing...definently scary, I know food would have killed me in the long run...
At least your dreams were enjoyable...sort of LOL
LOL i had these too right after surgery! I had a dream one day the i was eating dairy queen--which is strange b.c i dont even have one near me and i dont thjink i've eaten there since i was like 10. then the next day i was eating mcdonalds...i think its because allllll were thinking about is NOT eating food, so our brain likes to mess with us! But when i woke up i actually felt like i ate what i ate in the dream (cause i was on heavy pain killers) and i was so upset about and felt guilty LOL

Right there with you.
I was coming out of the anasthesia, still in the recovery room, and I dreamt about chocolate cake. I could taste it, feel the frosting on my lips. I freaked out, thinking I'd for sure blown my staple line.
Next day I woke up, I swear I must have caught a wift of someone's breakfast down the hall, because I woke up POSITIVE that I'd had a slice of Quiche Lorraine. I could feel the pastry flaking in my mouth.
I'm only four days out and still on liquids.... I can only imagine how much worse these dreams are going to get!
