3 days post op and feeling better!
Hi everyone!
I'm back!
I'm feeling better than yesterday. Not much pain (after taking the Hyrdrocodone). And now am glad I did this. At first I was questioning myself because I was scared of all the symptoms after I got home from the hospital. My mom told me that I looked pale, I had constant diarrhea, and on top of that I am on my cycle and had a bloody nose! I'm slightly anemic (which sucks) I think that's why I was pale. Just yesterday was a bad day!
BUT today I feel a lot better, and getting my fluids/protein/iron/multivitamins in which is GREAT!
DO you think I can go out and do some Christmas shopping or should I stay in a get some rest?
I really want to go out and shop though.

I'm pre op but maybe other people will have more insight. My guess is that it's all about how you're feeling and if you're feeling up to walking around that much. Maybe take someone with you and go to smaller shops where you'd be near a car so if you get woozy or tired you can just go home?
But I'm so glad that you're feeling better and are getting though all the symptoms!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

I remember on my third day post op I was starting to feel better too. I felt like I was feeling good enough to bring down a basket of laundry to the washing machine in the basement, but once I got down the two flights of stairs to get there I was very lightheaded and a little nauseas.
In that first week I tried to keep moving in my apartment but if I was up walking too long I felt dizzy and had to rest. You may feel like you can go out and do some shopping but you could feel different once you're out walking around, so just take it easy and listen to your body! Don't pu****!
Glad to hear you are feeling pretty well! As for shopping I would say that if it doesn't go against your doctor's orders, the go for it! The more you move around the sooner you will get that surgery gas dissipated. Be careful though, don't over-exert yourself. Listen to your body, you will probably feel like you have run a marathon after just a few minutes or half hour - that's normal and you may feel that way every time you start moving around for up to a few weeks, it's related to the anasthesia...Also, I wouldn't drive if I were you while on the pain meds, designate a driver and make them chaufer you around!
