Congratulations! I don't know about everyone else, but for me waiting for the date was the hardest part of the whole thing. Now you can really feel like the ball is moving and you are about to start the new life you have been seeking! What is your pre-op diet requirements like? A week? A month? Time for the "last supper?"

ha ha...well, originally they were going to schedule me for 1/9/07, so I've been on the no carb thing for the past week....when they pushed it back i was sad but at the same time happy cuz i was really feelin a need for a piece of toast...bread is my downfall.  So I met my mom for lunch and had my "last lunch"...lol...had a chicken parm sub from our favorite italian joint....but i'm officially back on the no carb thing starting 12/22....and then I have to go on liquid 2 weeks prior to surgery.  Which i'm used to...I did a liquid diet about a month ago and it was going good, but i had to have some kinda food.  lol   we will see how hard this one will be, but i know i will manage.  My hardest thing is gonna be giving up Starbucks...I've been called a Starbucks *****lol  It's sad when the Starbucks people know you by name, but I love Starbucks and I'm gonna miss them for the next several months :'(

If it makes you feel any better - now that I am 2 years post-op and at goal, I occasionally have Starbucks.  I get the sugar free, fat free carmel machiatto (about 120 calories for the tall).   This liquid diet is better, because it isn't forever and as soon as you're done with it you're not going to regain all you lost (coming from a former crash dieter - my most desperate diet attempt involved eating only cabbage soup).   Best of luck with all the pre-op stuff!  Liquid diets are no fun but bear in mind that in 6 months the liquid diet will not even hold a candle to your improved health and weight loss.

You'll be allright, taper off to avoid the withdrawals! Then when you are allowed to, get yourself an espresso machine, you don't have to drop too much dough. I got mine at Goodwill for 15 bucks and it has another side to make coffee too. I make mine with sugar free syrups and powders, and use non-fat milk and or artificial creamer. I drink at least one a day, sometimes two - taste great, they're sugar-free WLS friendly, and I save like 200 bucks a month!
