Before my surgery, there were quite a few pairs of my shoes I own that were really tight and I would never wear because they were so uncomfortable. I wear a size 10 and thought I could possibly be moving up to an 11, but when I would buy 11s they still felt super tight, and in the last year I had to trade in my fun style for whatever would fit. Then I thought it could be the time of day I was trying them on, because I heard that feet swell as the day goes on.. I am one month post op and 33 lbs down, and in the past week I have started trying on those formerly tight shoes and they fit! The size 10s fit comfortably and perfectly and I'm so happy! I finally got a chance to wear this amazingly adorable pair of silver glitter flats the other night andit was fantastic.  I don't know if my weight loss has anything to do with my shoes fitting better, but being able to wear them again adds to my happiness.

i totally know how you feel i recently had a holiday event to go to so of course i turned to my size 9 1/2 comfy, safe, boring heels...they didn't fit! too big so i went shoe shopping and lo and behold i found the cutes pair of black pumps and guess what size? 8 1/2...OMG i know i don't have to tell you how much easier it is to find shoes in an 8 1/2 as opposed to 9 1/2...the greatest feeling in the world!!! especially cause i love to shop!!! i feel so bad for my bank account cause that is what is going to suffer most with this new found discovery.

Word of advice - do not invest in a bunch of new shoes. I started the journey wearing a 10-10.5... at 6 months out I was able to wear a 9.5... I started buying new shoes because the 10.5s were unwearable and most of my 10s were too big as well.  Then at 9 months out - I went down to a 9!!!!!!!! Some of the 9.5s still work thankfully. I am at the point now I can occasionally wear an 8.5, majority of the time a 9... and rarely any 9.5s.

I see veins and tendons and stuff when I look at my feet now...two thoughts: A, our bodies will hide fat anywhere and B. all that weight on our feet = swelling....either way, losing weight seems to shrink em...

YES! Swelling has so totally improved for me in under 2 weeks. My ankles and calves always were always swollen, even worse by the end of a busy day. I've noticed my ankles now are starting to almost look cute! And not like cankles totally. It's awesome, because I KNOW I'm getting my fluids in, so I'd assume my body would have the same water/swelling happening. But it's all good. I'm also really excited for my feet to shrink. I have wiiiide feet, but they're also very thick. So it makes a lot of shoes impossible to wear. I really hope that my feet do the shrinking act - because even if they do stay wide, I can deal with that. More and more companies are making cuter shoes for wide feet. But having really thick feet just makes shoe buying difficult. As excited as I am about weight loss PERIOD, the shrinking feet/ankles/hands/wrists excite me even MORE! I can't wait till I can buy jewelry at stores besides Lane Bryant and Catherines because bracelets are too snug or rings aren't big enough. I'm an accessories ***** so shoes and jewelry, oh my! Heaven!
