Insurance Companies **** me off!!

Ugh!!  Hey y'all, I just have to get this off my chest....I hate insurance companies....they **** me off.  Make me want to fly to MN and go postal on some darn people....took them 3 weeks to realize they have had my pre-approval request sitting on someones desk and that it had not been reviewed yet....now that they have it, I have to wait another 7-10 business days for them to make a determination...

MN look out....I'm from the south...and my shotgun is ready...

Well, Hopefully this long wait will be worth it!  I would be calling everyday to make sure they are actually reviewing it. GOod Luck

I would check with your HR department to see what the contract says about turn around times.  I know that when I worked for an insurance company, we could be fined if we didn't adhere to the turn around times stated in our contracts.  Also, if we had an authorization that slipped through the cracks we would process it as a STAT auth request when we found it.  STAT issues are required to be reviewed in 48 hours.  I would call and see if you could get your issue elevated to STAT level since they ignored it for so long.  (Just some suggestions, don't get mad at who you talk to on the phone, it will not help make the process any shorter.)

why would they care?...it's not their life, or their future, or their happiness on the line here...you are an income for them...they don't care that their stalling keeps your life in limbo while you wait for them to make the decision that will change your life forever... god forbid they acknowledge that you are a human being on the other end of the line... yea...I feel the same... sorry you gotta be treated like cattle...but I promise, it is so so worth it in the end...just keep the final results in mind... xxxBecca
