Pain when I ate breakfast.

Im 3 1/2 weeks out and this morning when I ate my pureed oatmeal, the first couple of bites really hurt. As it went down, there was pain as it entered my pouch. But after a couple of bites, I was fine. Is this normal? I've never had any pain before. My liquids are going down fine also. Has this happened to anybody else?

If you start to feel this every time you eat/drink I would call the surgeon. Its hard to say if what you felt was normal or not... but definately if it keeps happening call!

sometimes when i eat too fast it really hurts going down, or when the bite i take is slightly too big.  it could be sticking, b/c your body is used to smooth liquids (i went through this when i moved up to solids.)

Sometimes my first meal in the morning is difficult - I get a tight, uncomfortable feeling for the first few bites and then it goes away.  To deal with this I drink some warm tea or coffee 1/2 hour or so before eating.  That helps it not happen to me.
