Proteinex- Dont open if you are grossed out or easily offended !!!!!

 I dont normally try to come on here and vent but..... I was just soooo grossed out I had to share : ok so I am getting ready for my surgery next week     I have been trying different protein drinks plus I ordered some Proteinex to try.....I thought great 18 grams of protein in 1oz.....thats is until I tried it ! (that was me in the kitchen sink.)...now mind you I have a strong stomach ....I mean I take cold meds with no problems. I actually like the taste of Pepto !   ( I know it sounds crazy )But this stuff taste like ASS .......It is across between cold syrup, garlic, and those herbal pills people take !!!! sorry that is the best way to describe it. Just sitting here thinking about it makes me want to throw-up again ! Ok I am going to go for now I just wanted to share.

don't stock up too much on protein drinks/shakes prior to surgery. I made that mistake and had tons of stuff post surgery that I had liked before but now threw up on the spot. Your tastes and stomach tolerances will change. Good luck with your surgery!

I dont even think about ...thanks ....I was going to go tomorrow to stock up on some things  that I liked so far but I think I will wait ....good advise

I had the same problem after my surgery, i could not stomach the slimfast, boost, ensure, or protein shakes.  they were just to gross.  i was able to figure out that if you compare a can of slim fast to a lowfat chocolate milk, it only has 2 less grams of protein, and about the same amount of sugar found in slim fast.  so i drank the lowfat chocolate milk.  I am NOT a doctor, so i dont know if this will work for you, it did for me.
