Hey all! Im a 14 months out. Lost over 100 lbs. still have about 30-50 lbs to go. and i am soooo unmotivated. i hate working out, and i like sleeping. ive been busy dating and having a life, and i find that im starting to slip back into the overeating...i got this amazing book, called intuitional eating or something, and it is really helping, but i cant help but notice that im eating all the time, when i should be NOT. i am far enough out that i dont get vomity or ill, and i can chew gum and whatnot. i eat whatever i want...but yesterday i ate 4 slices of pizza!!!! 4!!! (they were the thin kind of crust, and cut small, but still!!!). granted, it took me a couple hours, and it was soooo good!! i ate trail mix for dinner, because i had eaten past that point of full and to the point of stupid. does anyone have any good suggestions for getting motivated again? i'm a single mom-ish, so time is limited, and a gym is out of the question, and i live in the seattle area, land of rain.  are there any tricks people use to maintain motivation? i keep a really detailed food journal already, and i do walk my dog.....but i think the stress is getting to me. HELP!

I would suggest getting on a food schedule and sticking to it... from what you said above your overeating is all caused by grazing. Try and stick to your plan - 3 meals, 3 meals 2 snacks, 6 small meals... whatever it is. Meal time should be around 15-20 minutes (even up to 30 depending on your surgeon) no more no less... eating over the time is grazing.  Make an 'event' out of eating... put your plate together and sit down and enjoy your food... that will help you eat enough to keep you from eating again a little while later. As for motivation... you have to look inside. Why did you choose to have surgery in the first place? How has your life changed? Can you imagine 'going back' where you came from?  Just work on one thing at a time so you arnt overwhelmed... maybe even set up a 'rewards' system for yourself to help with motivation.

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

Thigh Lift 10/2020

Like Jennifer said, try to stick to your 5 or 6 feedings a day. I would add that you should try to promise yourself not to stray from the 30 minutes before and after eating no drinking rule. It will help you eat more at meal times and stay fuller longer. Are you filling up with protein? That will keep you feeling fuller longer. Also, if you keep drinking during the allowed times between meals that will help you feel fuller longer, drink as much as you can.  As for exercise, It doesn't have to be something traditional. If the thought of excercise bores or stresses you out, then search for something else that works for you. There is no right answer, as long as it makes you happy and motivated. I have been gettting bored with the treadmill and so it is has been tough to get motivated to get on it. So I have to find other ways to get moving, Whether it means playing with my kids or dogs, or even cleaning house, anything that gets me moving is beneficial. What works for one, may not work for someone else though. I'll post some suggestions in a seperate post for everyone to see...

you know, i hadn't really thought of that. i forgot the reason i decided to do this. and i HAVE been grazing, i just didnt realize it. i think the miserable seasonal weather is also affecting my ability to go outside (its been raining allll week!). But thanks, because i think i just needed to hear someone else say it...as a result, a friend of mine and I are holding each other accountable with daily affirmations and phone calls to help each other to not overeat, graze, and to drink all our water and eat all our protein. Next step is making sure i have a ton of high protein foods to eat so i stop grazing!!
