Please Help!!

I am leaving for a company meeting in Charleston tomorrow for the remainder of the week.  I plan on staying for pleasure through the rest of the weekend.  Charleston is one of my favorite places to spend a weekend!   Here is my problem.... FOOD!!!  Obviously, I am taking my WLS friendly food, shakes and snacks. But...OMG...it is Charleston .  My boyfriends birthday is Friday (along with my 3 month post op birthday) and he LOVES Italian.  I have made us a reservation at Bocci's on Friday night and all I want is pasta.  I don't want the guilt of messing up or to fall into old habits, but I don't get to Charleston everyday where I can have my lowcountry favorites.  Wisdom, a kick in the butt, and accountability is what is needed here...

Can you please offer perspective on this issue?

When I eat Italian I order what I want seafood, mushrooms, sauce and cheese and just NO pasta please. Everywhere I have ever eaten has done this for me! It still taste great, but without all the carbs that will fill you up with one bite. Remember, think outside the box and be willing to TELL them how you want your food! Holli

Stay away from the pasta - Order protein and go crazy on that.  It's better than the senseless carbs.

I know italian restaurants can be tempting...I've been to a few since surgery....What works best for me is to order something with a side salad as the first course...that way I start filling up before the main dish comes out...I usually order something that doesn't center around pasta....like grilled chicken....or manicotti...jus****ch the tomato sauce - it's usually got a lot of sugar in it....last time I was at Macaroni Grill I actually ordered off the kids menu and took home a doggy bag!

Best Italian in the desert is Bacci's, off Power and Williams Field just south of the 202!

That place is good...I have eaten there before....I actually live only three miles from there. My new house is at Higley and Ray right at the 202....I like a place up in North Mesa called Cafe Roma, and also Anzio Landing at Falcon Field....

Close to my place.  We're near Power and Queen Creek.
