I have been really suffering the last couple days.  I am never hungry and I never want to eat just putting anything into my mouth half the time is just not apatizing. I have been really lucky I have had no nausia and no vomiting so far since surgery.  I just dont want to eat.  2 days ago all i had the whole day was just protein shakes.  I dont really know if i am seeking advice or if i just want to vent.  but if you have any advice id love to hear it.

Its so normal to not want to eat so early out.  Make sure you keep your protein and fluid levels up.  You'll feel better soon.  *Hugs!*

Totally normal, to not be hungry right now. You are very newly post-op. So don't worry

I'm just agreeing with everyone else - totally normal. In fact, you could be describing what happened to me early out. Unfortunately, it doesn't last too long. Things will taste better before you know it! :)

I AM 14 WEEKS POST OP.AND I HAVE HORRIBLE EATING HABITS. IT VARIES BY DAY FOR ME. SOMETIMES I AM HUNGRY. SOME DAYS I AM NOT. I USUALLY HAVE TO MAKE MYSELF EAT. OR I GET BUSY AND DON'T EAT ALL DAY BUT SIP ON DIET SODA AND THEN I GET SO HUNGRY I EAT OUT. SOMETIMES I END UP EATING 6-7 OZ.  SO I HAVE A NUT APPT. TO HOPEFULLY HELP ME WITH MY TEENAGE EATING HABITS. ANYWAY ITS NOT UNCOMMON TO NOT BE HUNGRY ESPECIALLY AS SOON OUT AS YOU. IT TAKES AWHILE B4 YOU ACTUALLY FEEL HUNGRY AGAIN. SOME PEOPLE LIKE MY MOM WHO IS FOUR YEARS OUT STILL HAVE TO REMIND THEMSELVES TO EAT. I SUGGEST TIMING YOUR MEALS AND SNACKS APART SO THEY ARE EVENLY SPACED. ALSO,  MY DR.S OFFICE TOLD ME THAT ITS NOT UNCOMMON FOR YOUR TASTE BUDS TO CHANGE SO DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU GET CLEARED TO EAT SOMETHING AND TRY IT AND YOU DON'T LIKE IT.  IF YOU CAN HANDLE DAIRY THERE ARE PLENTY OF GOOD TASTING PROTEIN SHAKES OUT THERE. IF YOU CAN'T SOY IS OK TOO BUT HAS A STRONG TASTE AND DOES'T COME IN ANY FUN FLAVORS. GOOD LUCK

What you are feeling is very normal. Make a food schedule and STICK TO IT. Have a set breakfast, lunch, dinner (and snacks if you have them) and keep with it.... even if you dont want to eat or dont feel like it you still need to get in your required nutrition for the day. Making the schedule will help in a few ways... first you will develop a good eating habit... it will help you keep hunger at bay when you get further out and it keeps your metabolism going :-) I am over a year out and rarely feel hunger. I only get hungry if I wait too long to eat or if I dont eat enough at a meal. Most times I dont feel like eating or want to eat but Im ready to because I stick to eating at the same times every day.
