Well I was walking 4 miles a day pre-op.  Then I started doing water arobics at about a month out. 3 times a week. Now I am doing water arobics 2 times a week, weight training 3 times a week and yoga 2 times a week.  I just joined the YWCA and started this rutine 2 weeks ago. I love to exercise now. It helps when you aren't the bigest girl in the class. lol

I swim about 30 min 4-5 days a week. Just doing laps in the pool. I started at about 1 month out. Be careful not to do too much at once though. I was overly ambitious one day and decided to swim for an hour and i almost fainted at the end. Take your time and I'm sure you'll be able to see what your body can handle.

My surgeon required his patients to walk at least 30 mins a day every day for the first 2 weeks post-op.. which I did. At the 2 week post-op visit I was cleared for all exercise, except for ab work - that had to wait until 6-8 weeks out. After being cleared I went back to my Saturday yoga class (1-1.5 hours) and started with basic cardio 3-5 days a week (30-45mins)... usually walking outside, the elliptical or treadmill. At 2/3 months out I bought 3 and 5lb weights and started to do some weight training. I also started to go to classes at local place that does stuff like hip-hop aerobics and sexy cardio.  Basically over time I started to add more and more exercise and more variety. I wanted to start out slow so I had some place to go. At 9 months out I started with a trainer... I did weight training 3 days a week, cardio 3 days a week, yoga once a week. Weight training is 45mins-1hour. If I do the cardio with weight training its around 30mins... if I am doing just cardio its 1 hour. I also do a 5K jog/walk once a week.. it use to take me an hour but I am getting down to about 35 mins now! Yoga is still 1-1.5hours once a week but I am thinking of doing more yoga and a little less cardio :-)

3 wks out, treadmill - as much as i could handle, dr also said water aerobics were ok at this stage as long as the incisions were healed. 6wks out (today) started using weight machines no abdomenal wor****il 3 mo post op according to the surgeon.

I started to work out about 3 weeks out. I tried the water aerobics, but I will admit it was a little wimpy to me (sorry you guys that like it!) I work out about 5 days a week now. 10 minutes treadmill, strength training, then followed by 30-45 on the elliptical. (Strength training=alternate b/w arms, upper legs, chest, Ill start abs in another week at week 6 ) Its a heck of a work out and I have really seen an increase in the weight loss over the last 3 weeks as opposed to the first three when i wasnt working out.
