I am looking forward to a purred diet.  I am 11 days post op and have been on a full liquid diet, I am really looking forward to that step so I am really interested in what suggestions you get! *sorry I can't really offer any*

I ate a lot of soups. I bought one of those neat magic bullet things at walmart that you see the commercials for on tv. I also ate a lot of yogurt, sf popsicles,sf pudding, sf jello, cottage cheese, soft scrambled eggs, and smoothies.. I think that pretty much covers what I ate. I never thought of the beans and cheese.. sounds yummy though!

oh wow.....be forewarned! :) the beans & cheese thing did NOT work for me!  i had so much swelling, gas, pain, and burping.  EWW (the things you say on this message board you would never say in public!)   i also had this when i made egg salad & ate it with a few saltines (chewed extremely well, it's on my doctor's list).  not sure if it was the egg salad or the crackers there. so i am living off the following: --protein shakes --stouffer's spinach souffle  --tuna salad --cottage cheese --egg beaters --fat free yogurt --tofu, cooked with a bit of olive oil & cavender's --string cheese (frigo's) is surprisingly easy to chew, chew, chew and eat --oatmeal --bananas --palak paneer (this spinach cheese indian dish i love) --squash & zucchini that i saute in water until very soft with a small amount of onion --mashed potatoes (being an ex-carb junkie i was really excited about these but found they didn't taste very good and weren't worth the calories) Hope this helps!  I think lots of things can be considered "mushie food" if you chew extremely, extremely well - at least that was my doctor's advice.  No meats or fishes or real carbs (pasta) yet....that will be next week. GOOD LUCK!

My go-to food during that stage was homemade split-pea and ham soup...Just follow the recipe on a bag of split-peas - I liked the Goya Brand's recipe....Just use less water so it is a little firmer - like the consistency of refined beans - otherwise it may be too runny to fill you up and stay in your pouch longe enough.....I liked mine with cubed ham you can find already cut up - usually near the cold-cuts...Also, try it sprinkled with grated parmesean cheese - yum!

Refried beans and cheese is my favvvy right now on pureed. I havent experienced the gassy problem of the previous poster... but everybodys body reacts differently. Cottage cheese, tuna+lil mayo, diced peaches yum. It's a pretty boring time right now, but it will get better!
