Hey all, I have a goal to reach 199 by November 10th. I have decided that once I get below the 200 mark, I am going to treat my self to a new tattoo. I know a great artist who can draw just about anything, however I dont know what to get and need some idea's. I want something that symbolizes a change in the right direction, or a goal has been met. I mean I dont want to put a picture of a scale on my body. I thought about getting several stars across the small of my back because a star can kinda symbolize an accomplishment. Or Ib  could get a shooting star done some where, or maybe not a star at all.

Please sent me your Ideas and any pictures if you have them I am going to have this for the rest of my life so I want to get the right design

I had decided it I got down to 157 I would get a tattoo that was either 50% or 1/2 in some sort of design.. because I would be HALF of my original self.  Somewhat off topic from what you are asking... Since Chinese writing is all the rage.. you could always get the numeric version of 199 http://chineseculture.about.com/library/extra/character/bls_numbers.htm Or 199 in the shape of a butterfly..  the one could be the body and the 9's could be the wings.. I can't draw of I would show you.. How about a melting ice cube to symbolize your shrinking?

I did just that.   When I lost 50 lbs, I got a tattoo on my foot, it's in my blog on my profile if you want to take a look.  It'sa trail of stars for this wonderous journey I'm on.    I've hit 150 now, and am also searching for something to get again.    It's a great reminder of where you've been, and where you're going!

Success is a journey... not a destination!

I already have my tatt planned.  Once my TT heals completely.... I'm getting a Tuba with butterflies and music notes coming out of the bell.  I plan on being a professional tubist... so the Tuba is super important to me.  Butterflies symbolize rebirth, new life, etc and music notes are super cute.  This piece is going along my TT scar... so its like a symbol for the removal of my skin. I also plan on getting a star with zebra stripes on my shoulder outlined in pink- that's just cuz I love stars lol.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

Yay, I'm so happy you asked! I just got a tat last Sunday, partially to commemorate my weight loss and some other big changes in my life. I got a peach blossom, a symbol of spring and rebirth, on my foot because I wear flip flops all the time.
There is a picture of it on my profile!!

On January 1st 2007 my hubby and I headed down to the Tattoo Shop and I picked out the most beautiful butterfly. I had it done on my right shoulder blade. I wasn't approved for surgery until April 2007, but I wanted it to simbilize 2007 being the year of transformation for me. I just knew I would be approved and what better represents transformation than a butterfly!! I don't have pics of it up yet, but I'll see what I can do tonight. The most important thing is that you find a tattoo that symbolizes beauty TO YOU. You have to love it, and everytime you look at it a smile should spread across your face. Good luck and congrats on the weight loss!!! Morgan

I had a butterfly before surgery, but it does make a great symbol. if you want to somehow put in your surgery birthday, you could have a mural of something and tie that in. Say, like me for example, I'm a huge alice in wonderland/cheshire cat fan. Once i'm below 200, i'm going to have a short sleeve of my one-derland, and putting my surgery birthday on the mad hatter's hat. and lil special things in with the characters that mean a lot to me. or maybe you'll go in and just find something youlike. i have a large phoenix (bird) on my back, which inspired me. its my fav yet. you definitely need something you'll love to look at everyday. good luck, can't wait to see it.

I want to get a shooting star leading to my port area after I am finished and get my plastics done.  Just a thought! Barbara

I really like that idea. I was thinking if one day I am ever comfortable enough to wear a bikini or show my mid section how would I hide my scars. That is a really good idea
