Hey, new here

I've been lurking here for a few days and decided to post.  I figured it was less creepy to actually participate :)  I'm 21 and my doctor has said I need to get WLS ASAP.  So she had me take of this semester of classes (I'm a senior at Miami University) to concentrate just on having surgery and getting approved and through the process.  This is driving me so crazy and I've only been out for a week (less than, actually).  I have work, but still, now having the surgery is all I can think about and being home sick on top of it just makes it worse.  My doctor wants me to lose 200 lbs (oh joy!) and all that fun stuff.  My mom had gastric bypass (open RNY) two years ago and lost 175 lbs and so I know all about the after effects and all that other fun stuff.  It makes me feel better, more secure, to know I'm not the only one.  I never pictured myself having gastric bypass and it's a really weird time for me.  Anyways...That's all.  I hope everyone is doing well :)

Welcome to the board!  Lurking can be educational.... but you won't build the relationships most of have built- Heck, I totally met one of my best friends like 3 weeks ago on here LMAO! At the beginning I had 218 pounds to lose (393 pounds at beginning.... 175 is my goal)  I'm at 200 right now.... knocking at the door of Onederand!  So 25 pounds to go baby! :)  I had my RNY January 2006... I'm sure lots has changed even from the short time from MY surgery he he.

Welcome, Lurking can be a great way to learn things. there are difenitaly a few boards on here that I lurk on. Glad you came out of hiding though.

Welcome aboard..   I waited until the end of fall semester to have my surgery.. I had mine during Xmas break.. but I had band.. and we have less down time I think.   Good Luck and welcome aboard! Amanda
