Psych Eval - Cross-Post
This weekend I completed my pyschiatric evaluation. It was weird. I had planned out what I was going to say. How my weight had effected me emotionally. I was prepared to lay it out all on the table. Scare that I might get overly emotional. I thought of the worst case senarios - one being possible dragged to the mental asylum. LOL. Then I get the call into the cold office. And the psych talks to me for a few minutes and say's you're competant. I was out of there in no more than 8 minutes. Was it like this for you? Did you have to do anything else?
That's a good thing to know! I'm really worried about mine. I'll have to go here in a week or two and I dont want the men in the little white coats to try and take me away! I'm not ready to go to prison for murder just yet ;) They won't take me!!! NEVER!!! Yeah, I'm okay now :D I'm just being goofy.
My psych eval was a joke. It was about a 1/2 hour long... psych basically asked if I understood what I was getting into and if I was aware of the major changes that I would need to make. Then it was a few basic competancy tests to see I was able to make my own decisions. That was it!

My surgeon requires everyone to take a computerized behavioral assessment test then meet with the pysc doc. The computer test was about 200 true or false questions. I was laughing so hard at some of these questions " You have flown across the Atlantic 30 times this year, true or false?"
It was just to gauge how well you are prepared for the surgery and to make sure you would follow doc's advice
