Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood and Roll Call - (Friday/Saturday)

Howdy 20 somethings, So I survivied my first week back to classes.  I have some awesome professors and I got to drop a not so good one in favor of a way better one.  Oh, and my next round of tests to get this complication solved got bumped up from the 17th to the 12th (next Wednesday).  That is very good news.   How was your week?  I know we have some new post-ops, Mike lost his 100th pound, Meg got a surgery date, but I know there is more.  So if you're here, chime in! For food we're just going to forget Friday because I had a close encounter with peanut M&M's and let's just say they kicked my butt.  Today was much better... 9:30 - 12 oz coffee w/ 8 oz steamed skim milk 10:30 - 2 oz peanuts (minus the M&M from yesterday - much better choice) 12 oz water 1:00 - Italian Wrap (every now and then I get bored and so I get my Rachel Ray on and experiment in the kitchen - so today I made a wrap with half a low-carb tortilla, 1 tablespoon of spagetti sauce, 2 slices of deli ham, 6 slices of pepperoni, 1 1/2 slice of provalone cheese, 1 med size slice of salami - and toasted that in my oven, then topped it with shredded lettuce and a couple tomato slices - YUM!) 12 oz water 4:00 - 1/2 a grilled chicken sandwich (no top bun) (it just wasn't sitting well with pouchie) 24 oz water 8:00 - 1 slice thin crust pepperoni pizza That leaves me at 1155 calories, 76 grams of protien and 60 grams of carbs.  Pretty good day.  How about you?  Let's hear it!

hey amy! i'm so glad they moved up your next appointment! Let's get you better so that you can get back to normal! My weekend was....ehhh. Friday was good! B- sb protein bar (15) S- 1.5oz beef jerky (22) L-2 oz of chicken from chicken pot pie (14) S- cup of hot tea and 2 small walkers shortbread cookies D- Chicken and a few bites of the other stuff in a lean cusine (20) protein 73, calories about 1000 Saturday, i hardly ate anything! Damn me and my weekends! B-sb protein bar (15) L-2 small chicken strips and 2 waffle fries and a glasss of wine wow bad dayyy. :( it will be better today!

My week was great. I feel really good. Pretty much all food sits well in my pouch now except sugar and i haven't tried drinking milk straight up yet.

I need to go to my first post-op appointment but i've had to reschedule many times and since i have no guidence as to what i should be eating i feel like maybe i shouldn't be feeling this good. Maybe im "cheating" because I'm enjoying my 3 meals a day way too much for it to be right. You know what i mean?

At least i know the 3 tablespoons i can have at each meal is not overeating but i just feel guilty for feeling so good and enjoying the food i do eat during meals.

I'm sticking to protein, then fruits and veggies, then whole grain bread.

It sounds like you're doing it right to me, though it never hurts to ask what your surgeon thinks.  It is great you're doing well.  I hope things continue to go well for you.
