Hey! Sorry you've been feeling so lousy. I know it's not fun to throw up now, I can't imagine doing that after surgery. I hope you get it figured out and I'm sure someone on here has had this problem. I don't have an answer for ya but I thought I'd say hi and wish you better

Do you think you might have a slight stricture or ulcer?  Hopefully the endoscopy will offer your docs some answers :) Good luck!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

Good luck with your endoscopy! I hope that helps them figure out what is giving you such a hard time. I wish I could say I'd been through what you're going through, but I was probably the exact opposite. You know the saying "sip, sip, sip"? Well, I never even had to sip. The first day they let me have liquids in the recovery room I gulped it right down. I thought the nurse was going to freak, but everything was fine.  Let us know what they find!

My surgery was in Nov 05, and I had similar problems that started about a month post-op. . .nausea, dizziness, couldn't keep anything down (food or water).  I had an endoscope, a barium swallow, and finally a second surgery at the end of January 06. . .there was no improvement, and no cause could be determined.  I was told repeatedly that 10% of RNY patients have terrible bouts with this as our bodies adjust, sometimes lasting for 4-6 months - which, of course, made me want to throw in the towel and end it all (I remember thinking, "I'm going to die because of this, and I can't even eat to comfort myself!?!?!?!"). And then, one morning in early February, I woke up and the nausea and vomiting were gone.  Just like that, everything felt normal. . .   I was very, very careful with everything I ate or drank for several months afterwards (well, I still am). A big part of it is the dehydration, dehydration begets dehydration: not drinking makes you feel that much worse, which makes you not want to drink even more. . . I promise, you will get through this.
