Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood and Roll Call (9/5)

Howdy folks, It was a not so good day today.  I started out okay but had some pretty bad discomfort from my drain so I took a lortab and it knocked me out, unfortunately I had a class from 1-3 that I missed because I just wasn't up to it.  Initially the prof made it sound like I was going to fail because I missed the first day, but when I met with him and showed him my doc's note he was more understanding.  Phew, that could have been bad.  But food was good... 7:30 - Ham, Cheese, Green Pepper and Tomato Omlette (made with equivalent 2 eggs subsitute, 1 oz ham, 1 oz cheese and combined 1.5 oz tomato and green pepper) 12 oz coffee w/ 8 oz steamed skim milk 12 oz water 11:00 - 1/2 a small baked potato with ham, cheese and 1 tablespoon ranch dressing 24 oz water 4:00 - 1 med golden delicious apple 12 oz water 8:30 (now) - 3 oz tuna salad on 4 cracked wheat crackers I haven't checked with fitday.com yet and really I have no idea (though I imagine 70ish grams of carbs and low on protien - so not ideal but not horrible either).  It has been a little stinking hot around here (well, hot for Wisconsin) but it is supposed to cool down tomorrow.  What's the weather like by you?  And what was your day like?  I want to hear from everyone!

Hey Everyone! So sorry to hear you had kind of a rough day.  My job still I think doesn't get what is going on with me.  It is all about revenue here and they tell me things like the future of the Fundraising Practice is in my hands.  I just seem to have the I don't give a cares.  I started bleeding last night around my G-Tube and I hurt like crazy all night. It is so time for this to come out.  I can't take it anymore.

Here was my day from yesterday.... Not terrible... I was just wondering if the taco bell thing was bad or not.  I felt guilty after getting that.  It was like I couldn't get enough to eat. I think it was stress from work...

Well yesterday I was in the hospital almost all day and couldnt eat anything until after i had my IVC filter put in. so I ate for the first time at 3:30pm and I had a protein shake and jello then at 6:30 my tray came for dinner and that had a cup of beef broth, orange jello, apple juice, cranberry juice, and lemonaide on it. then when I got home at 9:00pm I had another protein shake and another jello.  so that was my day.  I have my filter in and I am trying to rest now.

Hey, guys! If you don't mind I'm giong to join in on this. I haven't done it in ages - since I first had surgery, but I think it would be helpful. I've gotten into some bad habits and I'm thinking writing things down may help. Breakfast - whole wheat english muffin w/ peanut butter AM snack - handful of kashi cereal Lunch - Healthy Choice steamer bowl PM snack - banana dinner - left over cheese pizza that I found burried in the fridge (see, I told you I'd gotten some bad habits - Ha!) sugar free popcicle Then I got the shakes right before bed, so I had a bite of chocolate and some OJ. This is something new. I think it is a low blood sugar thing.

I'm a pretty big fan of them. I like them because the noodles and veggies don't sit in the sauce and get all mushy. I really wish they made them with whole wheat pasta, though. I'm a HUGE fan of whole wheat in general - flavor, nutrients...yadda, yadda, yadda.  I also appear to eat quite a bit more than other posters, so the bowl is just the right size for me. I'm full, but not stuffed. It may be too much for some WLSers.

By the way - what are all the tubes and filters you guys are talking about? It sounds terrible!

breakfast: whole grain toast with tsp of sugarfree strawberry preserves.

lunch: lunchables. 4 pieces of ham 3 pieces of cheese and 7 crackers.

dinner: 2 small pieces of chicken, 1 cheese stick, 1 cream cheese wonton, 2 shrimp.

snack: 3 oz. brocolli and cheese campbell soup.

For some reason all that cheese didn't make me feel sick at all. Maybe its just milk that makes me feel sick. huuummmm.
