A while back i posted asking about signs that would let me know i am lactose intolorant ..

Well, now i'm sure i am. I get all queezy after i have anything with milk or cheese in it.

It sucks because i love cheese ..it just makes everything taste better. And i wanted to try yogurt because i've been haveing eggs for breakfast but they are just not sitting very well in my tummy.

any suggestions for a light and yummy breakfast? (no shakes, doc is against them, i tried them anyway but they make me naucious)

Have you tried egg subsitutes?  I don't do well with eggs either but I do well with most egg subsitutes.  Fresh fruit is another idea (apples, bananas, grapes, oranges - anything).   It is bummer about the cheese.  I am a cheese lover myself and I don't know what I would do without it.  I have a friend who is lactose intolerant and there is an enzyme she takes that helps.  Maybe you could ask your doctor about something like that.

Yeah, i bought egg sub but by the time i got home it was all gone so i had a few bites of real eggs.

I'll start haveing fruit tomorrow morning and i will talk to my doctor about doing something about the lactose thing. (when i get around to seeing him.)

Thanks

There is lactose free milk you can buy, and I think lactose free cheese too. My breakfasts are usually eggs or egg subsitutes, I also do plain oatmeal with splenda, sf maple syrup and unflavored protein powder sometimes - I call it "proatmeal"

Thats a good idea .. i'm going to try the oatmeal. I can make it with water. and then add some soy milk or lactose free milk.

I became lactose intolerant about 18 months after my surgery. One thing I've learned is that the food my belly can and can't tolerate changes with the weather. I'm really hoping the lactose intolerance leaves soon. I too love cheese. Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I still eat it.  Try lactose free milk - it tastes like real milk, promise. At least the stuff I drink does, it is called Lactaid. I can't drink it straight anymore, because all milk just tastes too sweet to me. There are a lot of natural sugars in milk, so be careful. As is true of all things in life, all things in moderation.

I eat cheese too even if it makes me feel all gassy.

I thought about silk but then i looked at the ingredients and it says it is made with cane sugar! So, i didn't even try it. I dumped once and i DO NOT want to go there again.
