5k challenge check in-wk 1 of 9
Hello everyone out there. Hope everyone has had a great week and been able to get in their training. It has been crazy for me, as I had family in, but I was able to get most of my training done this week. I know alot of you had said you had not started the last time I checked in, so for taht reason. Im going to put the schedual back a little-hope that doesnt throw anyone off. I am calling this week one of a nine week challenge. For those of you who dont know we are training to run a 5k, and I am using a training program called couch to 5k, which can be found at

So I know this is a crazy time of year with school starting, and everyone is busy, but if you havnt started yet I encourage you to start today. Even if you can't do it all, do a little bit. In nine weeks you will be better off than you are today. This is something you are doing for YOU-to make yourself feel good. If you have started and are ahead of us, Congratulations and keep up the good work. I look forward to hearing from you all, let me know how it is going.
I always loved running... it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs. ~Jesse Owens
ok...so I'm not going to lie I still haven't started....school started today and I'm also coaching cheerleading afterschool....i'm going to have to get up early and train then....it's the only way its going to happen.....any suggestions on how to do this on a really busy schedule and with a 3 year old?
You know I know its not going to build the endurance as much, but have you thought of breaking it down into three chunks. Its a thirty minute routine, so you could do ten in the moarning, ten in the afternoon, and ten at night. Also how about getting your three year old involved? I know my little three year old niece loves to run with me. you could make it a game. Also I don't know anything about cheerleading practice, but if your girls do any exercise to warm up you could do ti with them, likw try taking a little run with them right before practice starts. Hmm don't know if any of that will work for you, but hope you are able to carry on with your gooal. Don't get too stressed out. This si something that is supposed ot be good for you, not another problem in your life-start slow if you need to. Just do a ten minute run a day. Eventually youll be able to build it up. Good Luck
