Roll Call and Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood (Saturday)
Howdy Folks,
It is so fun to see new faces and old faces popping up more often. Let's work at keeping this going so the 20's board will be the coolest place to hang out because of all the rockin' people. It just takes stopping by and posting and replying to posts - we can totally handle that I think.
It's been a rough day (I've had too many of those lately) with lots of pain and lots of pain killers. I hate it when I don't even feel up to posting, but ya know here I am because I love you guys. I got a call from my surgeon's Physicians assistant yesterday (forgot to mention this yesterday) and it looks like I'm going to have my detached stomach removed (not the pouch the larger section of the stomach left over in RNY). That is what is causing my pain. From looking at all the tests I've done (most recently one done last Tuesday) the muscles in my detached stomach are paralyzed so when it excretes digestive juices it has no way to push them out causing swelling and causing my stomach to start digesting itself. Yeah. ouch. So later this week (hopefully Wednesday, at the latest Friday) I'm going to probably have it removed. I go for a consult with my surgeon Tuesday so we'll see what they decide for sure then. I'm just ready to be DONE with it especially before school starts on Sept 4th. So cross your fingers, think happy thoughts and if you pray - pray that this will be the end of my complications.
I'm sitting at 124.5 pounds today (up 1.5 in the past 3 days) so that is a very good thing. I've upped my carbs (good ones mostly) and it seems to be working.
7:30 - 8 oz skim milk
12 oz water
8:00 - 2 oz Nutripal Strawberry shake followed by 4 oz water (1st tube feeding)
8 oz water
9:00 - Whole wheat toast with 1 tablespoon cream cheese
8 oz water
10:00 - 2 oz Nutripal Strawberry shake followed by 4 oz water (2nd tube feeding)
8 oz water
11:00 - 8 oz Bolthouse Farms Perfectly Protien Hazelnut Latte (YUM! I never would have considered them before because they have 20g carbs to 10g protien per 8 oz serving but they are 100% all natural, no sugar added (not even splenda) and I LOVE them. I got them on a whim thinking if I didn't like how they tasted I could just use them for tube food but they are awesome and I recomend them to anyone not terribly carb concious for a good treat)
12:00 - 2 oz Nutripal Strawberry shake followed by 4 oz water (3rd tube feeding)

3;00 - 2 oz Nutripal Strawberry shake followed by 4 oz water (4th tube feeding)

5:00 - 1 scrambled egg subsitute with shredded cheddar cheese on top

6:00 - 2 oz Nutripal Strawberry shake followed by 4 oz water (5th tube feeding)
And now I'm working on another 8 oz of the Bolthouse Farms Hazelnut Latte that I heated up in a pan on the stove with 4 oz skim milk, whisked into a froth and topped with a dollup of whipped cream. I'm in a lot of pain, but at least I can eat some good carbs. The day puts me at 863 calories, 119g carbs (my normal guidelines are less than 120-140, so this is still in the guidelines but much more than I ever really get), and 50g of protien.
I was going to try to get out walking today (I'm not supposed to but I'm dying to get moving) but I wasn't up to it so instead I went through my wardrobe and bagged up the things that don't fit anymore, keeping in mind that I'm trying to gain 10ish pounds. My sisters and I are planning a MASSIVE garage sale for the first weekend in October (my older sister just down sized to a smaller apartment, my mother in law shipped us 6 boxes full of my husband's stuff he had left there and I'm downsizing with clothes and crap (I had 56 picture frames!) so we have a lot of stuff to get rid of) and my husband has agreed to let me use whatever we make off of it to get new clothes. He really is a sweetie. What a way to spend a Saturday.

I had a borrrring saturday and now a boring sunday! It's been a lazy weekend, i was out til 3 am friday though!
