Approval and a DATE!!

This has been an insane week...a friend of mine passed away this past weekend and that has sort of impacted a lot of things around my world. Anyway... I got a random call from the hospital today at work (which I missed) so I called back and Vanessa, the awesome case manager/front desk woman answered (whom I'm pretty familiar with now)...and it went something like this... Me: Hey, Vannessa, its Lyndsay, you guys called? VAN: Hey, Lynds, we didn't call, or I didn't, but, that's so funny, Angela (other awesome office/insurance guru) and I were just talking about you, like, literally. She was explaining your insurance stuff to me. Oh, let's put her on. ANG: Hello? Me: Angela, so what's up? ANG: (Paraphrased) Well, I got a verbal approval for you today from BCBS/Anthem...so how about we schedule you? Me: O.M.G. seriously? ANG: Seriously. Vanessa keeps saying omg too. How about September 27th? Me: O.K. sounds great.  ANG: Wait, Vanessa has a joke she wants to tell you... VAN: You've got a POS insurance plan that's not a Piece of SH*T! Me: LOL. So, there's the deal...I have a tentatively scheduled date for Surgery -- TOTALLY UNEXPECTED!! THEN...I'm like...well...if THEY didn't call who called? So I checked my voicemail and it was actually Gina (awesome nutritionist who is going to do a triatholon with me next year) to answer the question I posed to her during our session. I asked about having the APBand and was told that barring any major need to use something else, she had spoken with the surgeon and they're going to use that for me. So...I need to lose 10-15 pounds in the next month. This is VERY doable given my current weight... Just wanted to share the great, unexpected news (knock on wood that it all goes ok).  -Lagans

Wooohoo! They sound fun!. Congrats on your tenative date!!  I bet you are so stoked.

That is fantastic news - Congratulations on having a good insurance co and what sounds like an awesome center where you're having surgery.  I hope those 10-15 pounds come off like nothing and the rest of your pre-op process goes well.  Congratulations on your date!
