Diagnosis???
Ok so here's the pickle and no not everything is kosher dill.
So last week I started to have these feelings like someone was sitting on my chest (mind you I do not have ashma or anything) I thought it was an anxiety attack coming so I took some meds. Well that lasted for 3 days and I went to my PCP where they did an EKG, Chest X-Rays, and drew blood. They said that they were going to compare the X Ray with the one's from my pre op appointment. They said that my diaphram is enlarged on one side from what they could see. They gave me this peak flow meter to test how much air I can get out of my lungs and sent me home.
Then on Thursday night I got violently ill and ralphed my brains out. (I really think my eyes popped out of my head) I broke a ton of capalaries on my face, causing me to look like I was beaten with a socket wrench.
On Sunday I started to feel these sharp pains in my right side about 5 in from my belly button and my stomach was SUPER tender to touch. Monday I had a SF candy and dumped harder than ever. The pain continued and I went back to the PCP where they did some more X-Ray's and blood work. They said everything looked ok but that they were forwarding it to a different Dr. They told me to call my WLS Dr as an FYI. I talked to the nurse and she said she would talk to the DR and call me back. She said that I need to come in ASAP and I am going in tomorrow morning. Then I got so sick at work tonight my manager TOLD me to go home.
What in the HE*L could this be? A stricture? A Ulcer? My Appendix? Gurrr I NEED answers. I am so sick of being SICK (Amy, I know you understand that feeling) Has anyone here had this or heard of it?
Thanks for listening!!!!
well, i'm not sure about an enlarged diaphragm, but i've heard of an elevated one, when the diaphragms are not on equal on both sides. i think maybe they need to check for free air in ur abdomen or a small bowel illius, or appendix is that side too. i'd stay on an easy diet, jello, pudding, potatoes; until u know more, just in case. also, need to make sure in ur chest you don't have free air there either, or a pneumothorax. or maybe its just a bug? deffinitely stick with your surgeon's office on this for a diagnosis since it seems your pcp has no clue, and keep up posted!!j

I'm stumped - I thought I had heard it all but this one has me. It could be a stricture (the tightness feeling is very stricuture sounding) but the dumping from s/f candy? I don't know. I do know that I hope by now you are all better and whatever it was is gone for good. I'll pray for you! Let us know what you find out!
