College and Eating
Hello all. This place is a lot more active than I remember. Yay for that. Anyways, it's college time again. Wooohoo. My schedule is such that I don't have time to go to the cafeteria on Mondays and Tuesdays. I've been eating those tuna kits and protein bars. What are other fast, preferably non microwave items you can think of? I'm drawing a complete blank (the heat, it's getting to me. That or old age).
Oh, and on a mostly unrelated note, I survived band camp, which would have been impossible six or even three months ago. I am really lovin this surgery at the moment.

Off the top of my headL Nuts, granola (watch the sugar I usually eat around the dried fruit for that reason), jerky jerky jerky, string cheese, a piece of fruit, ritz crackers with peanut butter, a sandwich, You could also use one of those small refreezable ice packs in your bookbag and keep other things handy like cottage cheese, a salad, or whatever you want to eat cold...I use to be out in the middle of nowhere working and I would fill little zip lock bags with a scoop of protein powder and then mix them in any water bottle....that's all I can think of for now...welcome back to the 20'spot
Yay for activity! It seems like more folks are sticking around and replying to posts, that's what it takes. Mike got pretty much everything I could think of - I carry nuts, jerky and cheese sticks (which my nut told me are good out of the fridge for at least 24 hours). I also take a lunch bag (not the boxy kind, but this one that really is in the shape of a bag so it fits better in my back pack) with a freezer pack and carry pepperoni, cheese slices, wheat crackers and sometimes yogurt. Congratulations on band camp! I had band camp in high school and marching drills about were the end of me. I'm happy your happy with your surgery - I hope it stays that way forever!
