Howdy folks, My last post didn't show up when you clicked on it so I'm going to try this again... FIrst we've got something new, well not really new, but new here.  When I first came to obesityhelp a lady, her screen name was Sunny, posted a daily roll call where everyone could stop by and say they were hanging out even if they weren't posting.  It was a good "get to know you" exercise and it helped lurkers come out to say hello.  So come on out and tell us you're here so we can say Hi.   What are your plans for the rest of your weekend?  What does this week hold in store for you?  Any wow moments to share?  Or do you need some love and a hug even?  Come out and just give a name and status if you'd rather, but I'd love (and I'm sure others would love too) to hear more. And second, I don't see Mike around so since I'm here I'll go ahead and ask - how has your weekend food intake been going?  And have you tried fitday.com yet?  You really should, just to see what it is like.  Fitday is easy to use (if I can do it anyone can!) and it breaks down your daily intake into calories, protien, fats, carbs - very useful.  It also shows you on a pie chart where your calories are coming from and as post-ops we need to be sure that a large chunk of our calories are coming from good protiens.  Oh, and did I mention it is FREE?  Try it out! I'm not going to post my diet since I'm eating through a tube and that makes it boring and a litle depressing.  I get atkins shakes, pedialite, muscle milk, water, and liquid vits and pain meds.  Not very exciting or anything to write home about.  Surely your diet is more exciting.  So tell me - what'd ya eat today? Even if you don't want to post your intake - stop by and give a "shout out" (that's what the kids are saying these days right ).  I hope to see EVERYONE here (even you lurkers!) come and post!

OK, trying this again here....I'm pretty busy this weekend getting ready for the big move to Phoenix...I will be leaving here and headed to Raleigh on Wednesday, I'll spend a few days there before hitting the road saturday morning. I'll take I-40 from Raleigh all the way to Flagstaff AZ about 2,000 miles! If anybody is along the way and wants to hook up and share a kids meal, let me know! Today was another day where using fitday helped me out...My wife thoughtfully brought me a SF FF Vanilla Latte from Starbucks this morning and a bagel from Dunkin' Donuts - using fitday and a sight called dietfacts.com I was able to figure out that this was too much for one meal so I drank the coffee for breakfast and saved the bagel - ate half of it for lunch....dietfacts.com is cool because it has a much bigger list of foods then fitday and you just click a button and it automatically adds it to your fitday custom foods for you. BTW did you know a large (venti) sf ff latte from starbucks has 22 g of sugar in it. WTF? must be a lot of lactose in that milk - I'm surprised I didn't dump, but they say milk sugar is much better tolerated then plain old refined white sugars... So for the day: 1074 calories, only 17g of fat, 88 g of carbs ( a little higher than I would like), and 138 g of protein!!!! I've only had 51 ounces of water so I might try to down a water bottle between now and bedtime, or I might not! b: large starbucks sf ff vanilla latte l: 1/2 dunkin donuts garlic bagel, 1/4 cup of egg beaters. 1/2 slice of provolone s: chocolate whey protein shake made with water only - watching the carbs after what I had for b and l d: 1 chicken fajita in a small soft corn tortilla, and some more filling after - about 3.5 oz chicken, and the same for onions and bell peppers and 2 tablespoons of colby jack shredded cheese s: two scoops of protein powder mixed in 16 oz of water to get the rest of my calories and more of my water without adding more carbs from using milk - taste is ehh, ok, but I'm really not hungry or anything so I look at it as taking my medicine!  Thanks for posting the thread tonight Amy...how did eveyone else do?

I didn't know that about dietfacts.com and fitday!  I'll have to check that out.  Sounds like a stellar day to me.  And yeah, coffee from starbucks because of all the lactose and hidden sugars can be a killer.  Good thing you were paying attention.   I hope your move goes well - how long are you expecting to be without internet?  We're going to miss you!

Hey amy! I'm here because i'm lame and have no plans on this Saturday night! My only friend in Houston is out of town this weekend! Booo moving and not having friends! Although i do have a date tomorrow :) I'm excited but nervous. All that usual stuff! If only i could decide what to wear! Oh the troubles of being a girl! Today has been pretty good as far as eating goes. B: 3/4 sb diet protein bar (15) S: 1/4 cup of soy nuts (11) L: 1/2 of a sb diet tortilla and 3oz of chicken salad (20) S: 1/4 cup of soy nuts (11) and 30 minutes later my V8 fruit fusion juice D: I haven't had it yet but i'm going to get it now. It's 930, late, but im up so late anyways. i think im having chicken salad again! So protein: 57 so far and about to add about 20 water: about 72 ounces so it's been a pretty good day! :) I hope you're starting to feel better!

What are ya trying to say - are we not cool enough for your Saturday night .  Good luck on your date tomorrow!  I hope you have a wonderful time.  Just relax and I'm sure you'll do well.  I have been in a nut mood lately too (well, before the tube).  I crave macadamia nuts and almonds.  I am allowed to try to keep food down by mouth so I tried with some tuna casserole earlier tonight (bad idea) and that was pretty not good so I'm cautiously eyeing up my can of cashews, almonds and macadamia nuts.  I might try a few later.  I'm trying to rest, but I stink at it and my nephew really wants to play with me (I am usually the play hard and crazy aunt so he doesn't understand why I won't chase him and play trains with him) so that is making it even harder!  Make sure to let us know how your date goes - we'll be rooting for you!

I chickened out on the nuts Saturday night BUT on Sunday I kept down about 3 oz of chicken fajita stuffing (chicken breast, grilled onions/red peppers, cheese, fresh salsa and sour cream) by mouth so that was awesome.  My mom was making it for my sisters and her to have for dinner and it smelt divine.  So I'm thinking today I'm definately cracking open my can of nuts.  How did your date go?  I am excited to hear all about how much fun you had!

yay!! I am so glad you kept down that food. that is awesome and just shows you are finally getting better. You have those nutes! The date went so well! I really like him, he was super cute, funny and kept telling me i was beautiful and stuff which  a girl can't hear too much of! I hope he feels similar but i guess i just have to wait and see. This year of med school starts today so he is going to get super busy which sucks, so i have no idea what's going to happen. I guess i'll wait and see!

HELLO!!! So I just got back from a Packer Party. My friends are so sweet. They went out and got me Crystal Light and they made me chicken. How nice is that? I was really worried that I would go for all the bad stuff, but they truly supported me and I am thankful!!! So tomorrow I have a bar b que to go to. I think I am going to bring some boca burgers and some salad.  I DO know that I went to put on my FAVORITE top and it doesn't fit anymore. I had to ransack my closet to find something cute for tonight. Talk about clothes hanging off you. I haven't gone shopping yet! My friends tell me everyday that my pants a literally falling off me. I refuse to give them up just yet.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!! We should set up a chat soon.  Amy, I hope you feel better soon!  OHHH and by the way............. It is my 2 month surgiversary today!!!!!!! down 48 lb? since surgery!!!
