I dont know if I can come up with 10 but here I go......

1. being able to wear sleeveless shirts!
2. shopping in a regular store not a plus size shop
3. not feeling like everyone is staring at the fat chick
4. just maybe, a guy would ask me out! lol!
5. I will be able to run or jog, I have always wanted to do that but I just cant.
6. go to my 10 yr reunion and blow peoples minds! (next summer)

Well thats all I can think of right now. But after reading them, I feel really shallow! LOL!

Maybe I will add more after I really think about it.

You know there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good and feel good so don't feel shallow.  You'll notice the mobility and being healthier thing too, but your list sounds good to me.  Oh, and I must add - I really appreciate your sig line quote  Thanks for responding!

I'm about 5 months post-op, but here goes, in no particular order: 1. Much needed relief from my chronic back pain brought on by degenerative disc disease and three herniated discs - still suffering, but not at goal weight just yet, intensity and frequency is much improved already though . 2. An end to my recently diagnosed Type II Diabetes - accomplished! Last HgA1C was only 5.2! 3. Get off high cholestorol meds - done! 4. Keep up with my kids - done! - I go up into the playground things with them at restaurants now - just cuz I can! 5. Not spending so much money on fast food and groceries - Done! - Nowadays I'm a cheap date, ordering from the kids menu, and groceries actually last long enough for my wife and kids to have some! 6. Being able to fit in "normal" sized clothes, and pick from sizes available anywhere, like at malls - Done! - it's kind of nice not having to cough up the extra two bucks for "extended sizes" at Wal-Mart these days! 7. Feel confident that people see me for what I am worth at work, not as a "slow, lazy, fat guy" - TBD - ready to re-enter the workforce when I get back to AZ at the end of this month - wish me luck! 8. Extend my life expectancy - TBD - but the odds aren't stacked against me nearly as much as they were before! 9. Break my addiction to food - done! - I know it sounds cliche but,  I no longer live to eat, now I eat to live! and... 10. I'm bringin' sexy BACK! - Hey, I think this one is accomplished, but my wife may beg to differ! maybe she just doesn't want me to get too ****y, or maybe sheez just jealous! Thanks for this Amy, it was a fun exercise - the only exercise I got today! (I know, I know, I need to get to the gym more!)....so now your turn, what's your top 10?

1.Clothes, clothes, clothes, and can I say it again: Clothes  2. Not having to worry about my health-I don't want a heart attack when Im thirty 3. Just being normal, not being stared at because Im the huge one wherever I go.  4.Energy-I have none 5. Being fit enough to participate in physical activity like scuba diving and such-I feel like Im on the sideline now.  6.not having to worry if I will be able to fit in a seat, or if I will break it.  7.not having my life be about food anymore-there is so much life out there, and I feel like Im just now starting to get away from food and realize I can have a life. I hope this continues to happen after my surgery.  8.To be viewed as more feminine. Im a very feminine woman. I love girly things. I like being a lady, but Im 5'10 and weigh 322lbs-so not too many people view me this way.Im just this huge person to most people. Ive been described as the strong silent type-okay that is how you describe a guy-Im a freaking woman! That one hurt way more than any taunt I ever heard on the playground. 9.Ok Ill admitt it- getting back at any guy who didn't like me just because of my weight-not the ones who didnt like me period, but the ones who said,"your a great friend, and you have a great personality, but ..."yal can complete the sentence. 10.To be a good influence for my nieces and nephew-I want them to know that they can live a healthy life and dont ahve to be trapped by obesity

Sorry, I passed out from a "pain med induced coma" there for a while but I'm back.  Thanks to everyone who has participated so far here are mine... 1.  Get rid of my type 2 diabetes (DONE:  accomplished less than 2 months post-op, was probably before that but that is when I got to the doc to make it official) 2.  Cross my legs comfortably (DONE:  and let me tell you the novelty has yet to wear off!) 3.  Shop on the OTHER side of Fashion Bug (DONE) 4.  Ride roller coasters again (DONE:  Went to Six Flags Great America this past May and rode all the open roller coasters - see pics in my profile for proof) 5.  Fit through turnstiles again (DONE:  Accomplished also last May, I had a really bad experience with actually not fitting through a turnstile when my high school band went to Disney, in front of God and everybody I had to go around to the handicapped entrance because I couldn't tip-toe my butt and hips over the bars - but not anymore!) 6.  Learn to focus on PEOPLE and CONVERSATION and EVENTS rather than food: (Sometimes I do well with this, but it is an on going, learning thing that is probably going to take a while) 7.  Sit on ANYTHING without fear of breakage (DONE!) 8.  Weigh less than my husband for the first time EVER: (DONE sort of, when I lost the 17 pounds from this complication I got below him so I'm not planning on staying this low.  He weighs a light 135-137 pounds the stinker, but one day when I'll get there the healthy way) 9.  Feel confident with myself (DONE - I have to work on it everyday, but I'm getting there) 10.  BE COMPLETELY MOBILE! DONE!  (So I can't fly, but I sure can walk, jump, run, climb, lift, roll, flip flop, swim, crawl - anything.  It has been a big deal for me to be able to keep up with my little 2 year old nephew, Sam, and when I am well I totally can keep up.  Sometimes it is a matter of if he can keep up with me). That was fun - I hope more of you folks reply!

Wow it is cool to see another longer-out post-op hanging around.  I hope you get the rest of those goals accomplished one of these days.  Are you looking at plastics any time soon?  I hope to see you around more often, we definately could benefit from hearing from your experiences!
