Hello anyone interested in a challenge?
Thats great. If your interested I am going to use a training program at http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml called the couch to 5k program. Someone over on the exercise forum told me about it. I think I am going to train on Mondays, Wensdays, and Fridays. Ill check in on each of those days to let you know how its going, so you can look for my post and keep me updated on your progress as well. Anyways lets get this thing started. You can do this, I did...I made the 5k distance a goal of mine and reached it after around two months of going farther, and farther...last week I completed a 5k treadmill workout under 50 minutes for the first time! Now I would like to get to the point where I can jog the entire thing, right now I'm up to about half a lap jogging at 4.5 followed by half a lap of walking at either 3.2 or 3.5 mph....I'm looking forward to particpating in my local Walk From Obesity event which for Phoenix is sometime in October, check out their website to find out when they will be doing it in your area!
Thanks for the advice Michael. I have been looking for a walk to do, and that sounds like a really good goal. Congratulations on your achievement. Let us know when you reach your goal of joggin the entire way. Right now I am looking forward to walking a 5k around in September. hopefully soon I will be able to Jog them.
that's awesome!!! once i'm cleared for take off, i can try to jog....i only run if i'm chased usually! ;)
