2 Weeks Out, what I should know?

So yesterday was my 2 week mark. I am doing pretty good still pretty  uncomfortable at times. Not getting much sleep and I know I am not getting enough fluid. I am not hungry at all; I mean I have some head hunger but not much. I just wish I was further along In the way I am feeling. Saturday night I sat straight up in my bed to go use the bathroom and it hurt so bad around my port area I actually hollered. I think that was a little of a set back for me ya know. Anyway, I wanted to get yalls input on how you did at 2 weeks.and what you where doing.  My mom keeps telling me to stop rushing it. I really need to get in my fluids I know, its just I don’t even want it. Its crazy. Hope to get some input. Thanks so much.

 

 

 

PS: I can really feel my port and that is where 98% of the pain is

Hi cole, Sounds like you are doing good. The pain will eventually stop, give it another week or so. I recall thinking at 2 weeks post op that I wish I was further along. I am now 6 months post op and wish I was only 5 months post op. heheh. Enjoy this journey!  ~Diana~

I'm sorry you're having pain!  I'm not a bandster, but I have some port experience from having a drain in my "old" stomach and yeah, not fun.  It is really important to get enough fluids early on.  The best thing you can do for yourself right now is figure out a method of getting enough to drink - try water at different temperatures, try different 100% fruit juices, try crystal lite - whatever it takes.  Being dehydrated adds all kinds of headaches (literally) to your recovery.  I hope you feel better soon and I wish you success with your new band!
