Hello Everyone

Hello everyone!! I am new to this forum but not to the site.  I usually lurk around the PA. forum and the Main Forum.  I thought I would check out the 20's section seeing that I am 26 and talk to some of you.  First off I am almost finished with my 6 month diet (July 24) that my insurance requires.  I can't wait.  I have read up on everything and I have read the statistics.  I must say now that's it getting closer, my emotions are on a roller coaster.  One day I am all about it, the next day I am freakin' out thinking I am going to be that"ONE" person that dies on the table because of some weird fluke.  I honestly want this to be over and I am at home recovering... BUT that's not the case yet.  Post Op question:  Have you lost a lot of hair since surgery??  I already lose some much because of my thyroid being non-existant and out of whack and I don't want to lose any more.  My hair use to be so thick, now it's thin as can be.  Just wanted to say hello and see what's up. ~Jess~

Hey there PA pal! Hang in there and try to calm your nerves as much as you can...i know i know...easier said than done, but you will be fine. I've had so many surgeries prior to that I was fortunate not to have that emotional spike running up and down, but I assure you that the more calm you are the easier the whole thing is. As for the hair loss...mine started at about 3 and a half months out...I get a full brush about every 3 days....I have mid-back length fine hair too. I usually pull out a nice clump of strands after a shower, but there's not enough for anyone to really tell. Even with super baby fine hair it's not super noticably. I'm close to 7 months out now and it has progressively slowed some and I upped my Biotin intake some too. Hope this helps!
