Hey All! i had surgery on monday afternoon and was sent home yesterday afternoon...my problem is that i dont seem to be eating much or getting fluids in...i'm trying to...the whole time in the hospital i barely ate and the doc said not to force myself cuz i had the IV fluids so i wouldnt dehydrate etc, but now that i'm home i seem to have a bigger appetite but i'm kinda scared to eat and i have really bad gas today so its just making me not want to eat even more...i know your supposed to wait every half hour before and after eating to have liquids but does that apply on the liquid diet? i ate broth last nite and diluted apple juice and switched them every hour or so...does anyone have any ideas as to eating? and SF ice pops does it have to be an ounce of that every half hour or more? ~Lex

You should be fine if you continue to do an all liquid diet...I couldn't eat anything for a little over a month because it was so hard to even get thick liquids down.  So I lived off beef and chicken broths during that time.  I was able to get my protein in by drinking Isopure's.  As long as you are getting a significant (60-80ozs) amount of fluid down, then you should be okay...I was usually getting 3/4 of an SF ice pop down every couple of hours and sipping fluids in between that time.
