alcohol?
anybody drink any alcohol anytime soon after their surgery? i'm almost a month post op and my birthday is in a month, so i wanted to know if it'd be okay to have a little shot of vodka and diet snapple or something on my birthday? i'm turning 21 and it'll be my first legal drink and all...so i'd really like to have some! lol...i got something from my surgeon that said wait a month to have alcohol, but i was wondering if anybody has had good/bad/neutral experiences with alcohol so soon after surgery? thanks in advance! :)
I waited until three months, which is as early as our program allows...I had one milller lite, got drunk from it, sobered up in less than an hour, and have not had anything to drink since. Buying liquor is a pain in the ass in this state, you have to go to a special store run by the state....Real backwards deep south bull****No offense to anybody else who LIKES living here in the south...
I LIve in NEVADA and THEY DO give it away!!!! haha no really, When I went back to my home town in oregon, they stop selling it at the "liquor stores" (WTH is that?) at 6pm and bars CLOSE! They CLOSE at 1 or 2 am.... Isn't that when the party gets started? I was so dissappointed. I have never been in a place wehre they have "Last Call"
Paula. I had open RNY just before Halloween and was given the green light by Christmas so just 2 months. I'm a tequila girl Used to be Margaritas but the margarita mix has too much sugar for me now...though they do make sf ones but its a pain in the butt to bring it to the bar.
Be very careful of sweet alcohols....Pucker, Baileys, Buttershots, schnapps, as well as mixers like margarita mix, O.J., cranberry juice. A drink for your 21st is awesome....your first dumping experience is not as good!
Sip slowly, it will hit you differently than before (if you drank before) and also seems to go out of your system pretty darn quick too.
Basically just be careful and have a great birthday!!!
