need some support
Robin..... Best wishes to you! I am getting banded on the 20th, so pretty close to your date. Are you doing a pre-op diet? I'm really struggling, especially now that it's the weekend. SF jello and popcicles are my bestest friends! I'm getting ready to start packing, I'm so excited! I've been on the boards all weekend soaking in as much information as I can about what to expect, what to watch for, encouragement, inspiration and advice. Good luck, and I'm here if you want to talk! Hugs! Kelly

Congratulations!! I remember feeling exactly the same way you do. Today however, I am 1.5 years post-op, and down to 160 lbs (and a size 5/8) from 290 lbs and a size 22. This is the BEST decision I have ever made for my life, and I would do it 10 times over if I had to. I can honestly say I've never been happier or healthier in my life.
Good luck on your surgery and get ready for the ride of your life!!!
Hi Robin! My surgery was in Feb of 07. I had no complications and can eat what ever I want. I do choose healthy foods and stay away from what I used to eat which was fried anything... I had minor pain after surgery and took liquid vicodine for about 3 days. I will not lie the first month was a challenge for me because I wanted to eat something badly! I stuck with the program and now know how much will power I had. I have learned so much about myself in the last 4 1/2 months. I would take nothing back. I wish you well on your journey and you will do just fine. Take care and if you need anything holla back!

Robin,
i know that this is a super scary time for everyone! But after you wake up from surgery you will be so glad that you have had this done! I am almost 4 months out from surgery and i have lost 73 pounds. I have lost a lot of weight but i gained a lot more. More confidence in my self...i am still working on it but it's better! I feel like i can do anything now and that alone is worth it! You will do great!!
