question

ok so I just found this forum and I was so happy. I am 25 and I had the surgery june 11. I have lost a total of 30 lbs, I started at 264. My question is does the young skin go back better than that of an older person? I am hopeing that I dont have to have the plastics. Is anyone out there at there goal and dont need the plastic surgery? thank you lindsay

Your skin will go back better than an older person because you have more elasticity in your skin then older people do, but will that mean you won't have dragging skin? Not necessarily.  Everyone's different, so you'll find out when your weight is lost. 

I've got about 10 pounds to lose until goal - I had surgery when I was 19 (am 21 now) and yes, I have hanging skin.  How bad your skin will be will depend on how long you were overweight, age, genetics and other factors.  Your best bet is to work at staying hydrated, getting your protien and vitamins in and exercising.  Exercising won't shrink skin that is damaged at the cellular level (stretch marks are places where your skin is damaged at the cellular level and nothing short of plastic surgery can get rid of that skin) but it will tone the muscle under it so you have more definition and not as much hang. Truth is I would like to have plastics one day but the excess skin is much easier to deal with than the 150 extra pounds.  I think you will agree.  You will probably think the skin looks worse than it does ****rtianally do sometimes) but really people probably aren't paying as much attention as you think they are.  So enjoy your weightloss (congratulations on 30 pounds down already!) and worry about skin later.
