I'm glad I found this group!

I am really happy that i found OH and particularly the group of people that are my own age.  I am 25, I have been trying to get approved for about 2 months now.  I just had my psy evaluation today, he told me that I was approved.  Now the insurance company holds my destany in their hands.  I start college the end of August.  I am affraid I will be having the surgery while I am in class, but I will do both.  I have a really long way to go, so I am glad that I can meet and get to know everyone around here in the mean time.

Hey Amanda - I'm glad you found OH.  Obesityhelp played a big role in my surgery journey.  I had surgery when I was on my winter break and it worked out just fine.  As long as you can schedule your surgery about a month before school starts (maybe a bit more than a month to be safe) you should be fine.  I tell my professors about my surgery so if I have problems or have to miss class to go to the doctor they are very understanding.  I hope you get insurance approval soon!

Thanks for the advice I am really close to graduation.  I am hoping to have about 4 weeks before school starts.. I am not sure if that will happen though.  Thankfully half of my classes are online and i am sure that if i talk to my teachers they will allow me to do some of my work through internet as our school has a lot of distance learning students.  The good news is if my recovery does run into the semester i technically only would be missing campus time 2 days a week, as those are the only days I have scheduled to go to campus.
