Got verbal approval today!!!!

I am thrilled to share that I called the insurance company and I recieved verbal approval. They said that my letters were being mailed out!!!!  So hopfully I will be able to schedule a date so that i can have enough time to recover before my summer vacation ends! I'll keep you posted! Colleen

I think I am still in shock! I did not think it was going to go so smoothly with insurance. I had read so many horror stories on here. But yes I am thrilled, nervous, excited, and I feel like running outside and screaming to the world that i am going to work my butt off to be a hot red head!!!   I know dorky, but I always wanted to be abel to say it! I thnk I felt the same way. I was calling everybody including the WLS clinic so I could try to get my date. It took them a few days though. I was able to convince the insurance company (United Healthcare) to fax my authorization letter so that saved me a few days. When I DID get the date a few days later I was really shocked because I only had 19 days to go. That is when it really hit me and I had to start getting psyched up...By the way, thanks for the compliments on the pics, I went ahead and posted some more so yall can see my princess now too....

Me too!!! But I am learning in this process I need to be more patient, so I am determined to not start  checking my mailbox  until after 9:00am daily!!!          

WOOHOO!!! I'm so happy for you -- I remember what happened when I got verbal approval.... I had been calling the insurance company everyday but couldn't get an answer.  I would call and ask for the status of my appeal, and they would tell me one thing and ask me to call back later.  I would call back and they would refuse to give me any information.  They would promise that they would have a supervisor call me to explain the status of my claim and then I wouldn't hear anything.  So I called again, intent on getting an answer of some sort.  I fully expected to get the run around again.  A girl answers the phone, and I give her my information.  "So I need to know what the status of my appeal is for my predetermination for surgery."  She says, "Let me see... it looks like an approval letter was sent out yesterday."  But I didn't hear her, I was so expecting something else. "Well, what does that mean - what's the answer?" I demanded.  "Well," the woman on the phone paused, "it's an approval letter...." LOL.  Sometimes I'm such a dork.  Happy approval day to you! Yay!

That is to cute! When she told me I wanted to scream, but she was so soft spoken and business like that she started giving my my approval number and other information, that I just grabbed my gum wrapper and started writing stuff down as fast as I could on a 2X3 piece of "paper"!
