i returned to work today.. i teach 9th and 10th grade english. being 9 days post-op, i was a bit worried. however, i think it was the best thing for my recovery.. don't get me wrong, i took it pretty easy-- but getting back in the routine, visiting with my teacher friends, and seeing my students was just what i needed. i feel (almost) normal.. i posted on the main board.. and didn't get very many replies.. maybe my 20's buddies can help-- when i lay down for longer than 10 minutes i get a sharp pain underneath my belly button. so much so, that i sleep sitting up.. i emailed dr. patel. he said that it wasn't uncommon, but that i should be able to lay down..and to apply heat.. well, i ventured to the complications message board.. and got the idea that it may be a hernia... have any of you experienced this kind of pain? was it a hernia? am i going to die? thanks, ya'll... i appreciate your responses

I have never had a hernia  but what I do know is that it is a buldge that sticks out and it hurts. Do you think that your body is still healing from the surgery? I slept on my back for a month before I could lay on my side or my stomach.
