Skin question????

I have heard MANY times that skins seems to "snap" back a little better when you are younger.  I am pre op and wondering about the truth behind this.  For all those post op, how has your skin snapped back?  I am not so much worried about my breasts and tummy since my ins will cover that cost.  I am more wondering about my legs and arms.  Oh!  And I am 24 btw.  Thanks!

I feel no matter how much snapping you will still not be 100% happy with the way things look post-op... its a matter of deciding what you can and cannot live with. I was 27 when I had surgery and had about 100lbs to lose... the same parts that look bad on people much older and heavier than me are the same on me... perhaps not to the extent. My arms are horrible and because of the weight loss Ive developed more stretch marks on them because the loss of weigh made the chicken wing hang more... my legs are pretty decent but I still have that inner thigh flab that wont go away... when I stand up I have some slight knee fat from the skin being lose and hanging down. I am already looking into PS and would say my legs are the only thing I could live with for now if I couldnt afford to get them done... 2nd thing I could live with are my breasts... definately cant live with the stomach and arms thou!

i think we young'ins are better off than some... but even with that being said, i would say that i just "snapped" back. i am dealing with the perminant scars and issues that happen when you abuse your body by being obese... my breasts and tummy are getting plastics asap... my legs are fine ( well my inner thieghs need some work, but lets not be picky here, lol ) my arms i am most upset about i think because its summer... i wasnt planning on having anything done to them... but lately i have been really upset about them, so we will see

I have been obese my entire life, so the skin has not "snapped" back! I can live with my arms and very top inner thigh, BUT the stomach has got to get a tummy tuck and the boobs need a lift. I personally don't want implants just a lift of what is left. I went from a 42 C bra to a 34 B wish some major padding and push-up! I agree with Jennifer it comes down to what you can and can't live with! Does anybody have any pricing ideas for a tummy tuck and boob lift? Holli

I am pre-op so unable to help you.  But I'm curious what insurance you have that will cover your tummy and breasts if you don't mind telling me.  Good luck on your journey! Linda B
