whats up all??? Well i am about 3 wks out, and I am still having pain from the hematoma the surgeon gave me (look at the pic on my profile if u want).  I'm just wondering if anyone else went through a heck of a time getting back to somewhat "normal." I am not able to walk on the treadmill b/c i can barely stand up straight, so i am a wee bit NUTS right now...  Share your stories if u can... thanks in advance, Steph

If it makes you feel any better I am going to be one month post op and I still see some bruising where one of my incisions are. In addition I see that one stitch has pierced through my skin. I yanked on it thinking it was dead skin and hurt myself . So I think I am going to cut it a tad. But other than that I feel great. I looked at your picture and it looks like it hurts. So take care of yourself and if you do not feel better by next week you might want to see your doctor.

How funny, i had stitches popping up too! I was like, "WTH??? I know i have hair there, but this is ridiculous!" LMFAO! I then found out it was the stitches and i cut them with nail clippers! Too funny! I'm sorry you got hurt too, that sucks, but we're gonna feel better soon....right? RIGHT!  I will keep in touch and check in with you soon!  TTYT, Steph

I had a rough go of it. I started feeling better when I had my drain taken out after a week, but I was out of work for 3 weeks and didn't feel like myself until a few months had past. Remember your suddenly going through all kinds of fat, sugar, carb withdrawls, and your body is dealing with the healing process, anesthetic (which can stay in your system for over a month), and a sudden calorie reduction. It takes a while for it to all balance itself out. Just try to take care of yourself - rest when you need to, intake your protein first (it will help with healing), and keep personal stress to a minimum. It will get better!

Steph,

Hey girl! I feel ya. I am 4 weeks out and while I didn't have a hematoma (ow!) apparently I am just a pansy.  I STILL have pain at my main drain site (I had rny) and on my left side. currently I"m battling with constant nausea everytime I swallow something.

They say that the 1st month is just horrible, but its supposed to get better. I"ll pray with you!
