I am stuck at 162! The scale has not moved in three weeks!!!! The only thing I have changed is I am now chewing lots of SF Orbitz gum. Is that it? Is that causing my freeze??? HELP!!!! I joined the Y on Monday and have gone everyday since. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the scales moving again!! Holli

Keep exercising and make sure you are taking in enough calories that your body doesn't go into starvation mode. I find the more I eat, the more I lose. I've also gotten stalls, and noticed that I was eating on my husband's schedule, not my own. So now I eat about 6 very small meals throughout the day. This has helped my weight drop tremendously. And, as of last week, I've started taking belly dancing classes for exercise! I have a gym membership, but am often not motivated to go.

If you have any dance schools around you, they should be able to point you in the direction of a belly dance instructor if you're interested. Let me tell you, there are people of ALL sizes and ALL ages in my class. My instructor is a grandmother who is about 50lbs overweight. But from what I've heard, this type of dance really builds up confidence in women.

The closer you get to goal the slower the weight loss typically is. I had surgery in June and am currently 180... my goal is 155. My NUT said to expect 5lbs a months loss until I reach goal. In Jan I lost 10lbs so that was a suprise but last month I lost 5 and this month I am down nothing so far. My NUT suggested changing my workout routine every 6 weeks because thats how long it takes your body to get use to it. Also make sure you are eating enough carbs/calories. Just have to keep waiting it out and youll see the scale move :) my NUT told me if the scale doesnt move for 4 weeks or longer to give her a call so you may want to give yours a ring if the scale keeps not moving!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

I have not really paid attention to how many calories I am taking in or even know how many calories I should be taking in now???? How many do you take in? I just started the work out thing. So, we will see how that goes. What do you typically eat in a day?  What is a NUT? Is that a counselor or doctor? Thanks for the post and tha advice~ Holli

If you're doing protein first, you really don't need to count calories. That's the great thing about this surgery. You'll fill up fast on healthy proteins and your calories will work themselves out. If you're snacking a lot, and doing 3 meals a day, try switching to 6 small meals. NUT stands for nutritionist. :) Working out will certainly help with weight loss and increase your metabolism so when you're resting you will be burning more calories too. It's a win-win thing with working out. Just don't freak out if the scale goes up when you get going with your routine. Muscle, by size, weighs more than fat, but you'll notice that your clothes will start getting bagger, showing that even though you might not be losing scale pounds, you're losing inches.

I found this on another forum...hope it helps...

"Plateau Buster Diet" How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain s/f yogurt peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily In addition to the Plateau Buster, change your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, join Curves, if you are a Curves member, do walking on days that you don't do Curves. If you are a member of Curves, join a gym or buy free weights and alternate between Curves and the gym or free weights for 5 days a week.

I quit eating all carbs for 10 days and lost 10 lbs...so i know it worked for me!
