I hate to be a pest...

Hey I have a question...how often did you all call the dr. office before you got the surgery. I am so excited to have my insurance and I just want to get the ball rolling however I feel like i am stuck...now don't get me wrong it has not been long at all... I called to have something faxed to my Psych and they said they would fax it before my appointment and my appointment ws yesterday and the psych said she did not get it. The lady from the hospital told me she would e-mail me back on thursday and I have not heard from her... i know it is only four working days but I went to the seminar a month ago and my insurance last week and just want to get in for an appointment so I know this can really happen....I know waiting is part of the game but RRRRR I hate waiting. Thaks for listening to me whine Colleen

Colleen, I would call them now. Don't feel that you are bothering them. You are the one paying the(well ok your insurance) they are working for you and if they told you they would contact you last thursday I would have called them on Friday. My experience is if you don't keep on them they seem to  push you off tell they want to get to you. Keep on them like a hawk and things will get done.

Thanks, that is what i was thinking...but I did not want them to be irritated with me and put me to the end of the line.... I will call them in the AM...  I guess the squeeky wheel gets the oil.... thanks

This was my journey before the surgery. I went to the seminar in late October (10-25-06). At the seminar I set up an appointment to meet with the doctor which was scheduled in late December (12-22-06). When I went to my doctors appointment in December my coordinator gave me all of my referrals and advised me that once everything was complete to give her a call so she can make sure everything was completed. Four weeks from that date I completed everything and called her (1-18-07). The only reason why it took that long is because I am a procrastinator. I followed up with 3 more phone calls. My date was set for 2/13/07. I was fortunate to have an excelent docotor and staff.

Some advice that I can give you when getting your blood tests, x-rays, and ultra sounds is to request for the center to fax it over to your doctor and then retain a copy for your records a couple of days after the tests. This helped me out a lot. It also expidited the process.  Good luck with your journey and if you need anything you can holla back! Diana
