Sugar free

Hi guys,  just curious.. Are we allowed sugar free ice cream?? Also, what about grapes??? Let me know!!!

Hi, I don't know if we are allowed to have sugar free ice cream. My nurse explained to me that although you might be able to find an ice cream withiout sugar, it might be high in calories or fat. You might want to try sugar free popsicles instead. Yesterday, I was in the grocery store and I found Popsicles that were made with splenda, I think the Brand name was Whole Fruit. However, I did not buy it because the last time I tried a sugar- free popsicle from a different brand,  I started to get sick. However, everybody is different. You never know until you try it. Im not sure about the grapes.  Im only 4 weeks out and I have not tried any fruits yet.

We can have s/f ice cream...just make sure to check the fat/calorie/carb content....there are brands out there that offer low carb/low fat and s/f ice-cream....just do your research and check on line...wouldn't hurt to google all of the things you are looking for in a ice-cream and seeing what you come up with.I try to switch it up from time to time and eat sugar free whip cream or sugar free puddings.Also s/f popsicles are great.....if you like cranberry juice,ocean spray have very good s/f popsicles...about the grapes...i've been told to watch out for grapes because they are high in sugar and its hard to keep up with how many you eat.have to be careful with most fruit due to high sugar and high carb

You are allowed whatever you want.... just need to follow your surgeons guidelines.  I find that sugar free products bother me and sugar does not. Anything too high in sugar alcohol is not my friend!
