Plz read! SCUUURRRRRRED!

hey all i am 24 y/o 5'2 248 on my WLS journey. I have 2 months left in my 6 month mandatory diet, I have actually gained in my diet about 6 pounds! I am deathly afriad(well not deathly afriad LOL) of being denied by insurance because i have no comorbitities and the fact that i actually gained weight during my diet! Any experiences similar to mine and did you still get approved? I am wondering what my odds are. Considering my only shred of hope i have left is that i have a BMI of approximately 44... i havent checked in a while lol.... help guys ease my mind!

I was worried like you were on my 6 month diet  ( I was 5'2 270 BMI 47 ) with no co-morbs.... I lost a little on my diet and then gained it back, to were I ended up right were I started. I was approved in like two days. I hope this helps a lil, I know its VERY nerve racking during that six months, your time will come though, just keeping on being positive!!!

Hey there..what kind of insurance do you? It depends a lot on that, but I know I have BC/BS and I was in your position as well. I have pre- high blood pressure and cholesterol. "I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and have PCOS. Every insurance is different, but I was 5' 3" and 258 when I started my 6 month diet plan. I also gained weight and I weighed 278 on my last pre-op appointment with my surgeon. I had NO trouble getting approved. It does depend on your insurance's guidlines, but rest assured as long as you follow their procedures and are within those guidelines you should have an approval. I got mine in 2 days. Is your BMI over 40? That is a big decision buster too...as longas you're over 40 with no necessary co-morbidities you should qualify for surgery as well. Hang in there and don't get too woried! Kerri
